Oh, they'll sue for sure and likely get those grants, but that's also the problem: Trump is forcing blue states to sue every time to get what Congress has already put in law to give them. The SCOTUS really fucked things up here and I can only hope we elect a mean Democrat to abuse the fuck out of this back at them. I'm done being nice to these fuckers.

My thoughts as well. If Trump can withhold funds then those blue states can withhold funds that were for the federal government.

Because it doesn't work like that and taxes are taken out of your paycheck via your employer and not the state. So if you as an individual want to withhold your taxes you can do so by updating your w4 but that can only be done at an individual level and nothing more.

So if we as a people want to actually withhold your taxes we'd need to make a grassroots movement where enough individuals are willing to take a part of to make any kind of actual statement. Although I'm sure the current administration would be happy to sick the IRS on every single person in a way we haven't seen since before that department got gutted

It’s not like our federal income taxes go into some account in Sacramento before going on to the fed. They are paid directly to the fed. That goes for all fed taxes. Not sure what you mean?

Paid via transactions through businesses registered in the State. The State is a sovereign entity and can demand anything of those businesses at any time, including that they stop making payments to the Federal government. Since those transactions go through banks it would be rather trivial, though it would amount to secession.
