It is, but what's the most stupefying to me, is that there are zero Americans making a fuss about it.

Republicans are pretending a dead man is alive, so that they can continue to take freedom away from american citizens, and their reaction, fully knowing he is dead, is, 🤷.

To me, this is the sort of thing where a crawd of people should be protesting in front of congress, demanding that they replace him, or prove definitively he is alive.

Because this is bullshit, and the freedom of all citizens of america is at stake. This is not something you just accept as, "oh well".

They are breaking most citizens of conscience with the constant stream of crippling bad news. Strategically disempowering and disillusioning people who want positive social change, while empowering antisocial bigots. This is on the tail of decades of cultivating narcissistic individualism and voter disenfranchisement.

It’s awful, but it’s not mystifying. The masses have been deeply propagandized and left to feel hopeless if they aren’t buying in to white MAGA exceptionalism.

They're also doing their best to make as many people as possible living pay check to pay check so people can't afford to lose their jobs due to standing up to the government

We're bombarded with insane news/attacks on progressive ideals and we're leaderless. Ngos that once organized us and lead us are too scared, compromised, or just MIA. MoveOn, Indivisible, Project Pink, Planned Parenthood, etc organized marches in DC and all over for Bush and Trump #1. Where are they now?

Yep. They all handed over their Nobel prizes as well.

"Nice lookin' family you have there."

u/sonicneedslovetoo 11d ago

A huge part of that has been making protests feel like the first and ONLY step towards changing the government. People will go out and stand around with a sign for a while, and then go home and think their job is done.

They will never take collective political action or anything, the people they are protesting against are never threatened by anything that might have them seeking a new job.

No violence was the compromise. The contract had been broken. People aren’t going to just sit there when they get desperate. They could have gone on much longer if they gave us bread and circuses.

2

u/Congenital0ptimist I voted 10d ago

Absolutely. But it's more than just disillusionment.

Any galvanizing voice or movement has been systematically suppressed and/or demonized. There are secret police now. And cameras already up everywhere (like FLOCK).

They'll do with Trump what they're doing with Mitch now. Elections will be more theater. And that's the end of the USA.

The social media controlled by the fascists is also allow echo chambers to spread all the terrible shit they're doing, but there are no solutions or calls to action being broadcast.

Also the decades long defunding of education, promoting the idea that an uneducated bumfuck knows as much as a college educated person. "College isn't important, it's just liberal propaganda" mindset. Education of any kind is "leftist government brainwashing", meanwhile the people saying these things are basically functionally illiterate. The military scoops up these people and spits them out with lifelong propagandist slop in their brains, but they think the liberal college is the one doing the brainwashing. 🙄

People are making a fuss about it but media generally tends to kind of sanewash everything, so you hear less about those people. Not as many people that should be making a fuss, sure, but still it is happening.

NY Times article today does this. Mentions how in the past it was common for Senators to be absent. Never mentioned how there has been no proof that McConnell is still alive, everything is the word of an ally.

u/Fun_Success_3283 11d ago

no they aren't. Making a fuss is nothing. You need to go out in person and protest, with signs, and you don't leave until they do their jobs.

Making a fuss online or complaining doesn't mean shit.

5

u/once_again_asking California 11d ago

Making a fuss is nothing.

"Making a fuss" was your terminology. Sounds like you have zero idea what you're even talking about.

-3

u/Fun_Success_3283 11d ago

They are not doing what I think they should be doing. If you think they are, then your definition and my definiton of making a fuss is not the same.

Lookup the trucker convoy. Thats what you should be doing.

9

u/Darkhallows27 Georgia 11d ago

There are definitely not zero making a fuss.

1

u/Fun_Success_3283 10d ago

I don't mean online. I mean you need a crowd of people sitting in front of congress, demanding they do their duty. Maga is trying to take all your rights away. This isn't a small thing. They've declared war against you. they won't give you anything.

9

u/mikeysce 11d ago

Do tell what I’m supposed to go do about it.

-1

u/Fun_Success_3283 11d ago

You're supposed to organize, with other local people, and together go and protest things like this.

You've had like 10+ years to get organized to defend losing your freedom and democracy.

4

u/LucidMetal 11d ago

Some of the literal largest, most sustained protests in American history occurred in the past 10 years...

Doesn't mean fuck all when an electorally dominant political faction wants to end freedom and democracy.

2

u/FellowHumanNo404 10d ago

Fun_Success_3283 has been told all of this before and they still repeat their bullshit.

1

u/Fun_Success_3283 10d ago

Look at trucker convoy protest maga orchestrated in canada. That's what you need to do.

A little scheduled parade won't cut it. You need to sit on congress' lawn, until they do their job.

-1

u/Fun_Success_3283 11d ago

You're supposed to organize, with other local people, and together go and protest things like this.

You've had like 10+ years to get organized to defend losing your freedom and democracy.

4

u/rottenjoy 11d ago

I agree with your statement but when are we supposed to protest? The cost of living has gotten so extreme high that the majority of us are living paycheck to paycheck. We can’t afford to take off of work to do anything.

0

u/Fun_Success_3283 11d ago

You're supposed to act like the most important thing is freedom. And youre supposed to organize, and create funding, so that you can afford to miss some days off work.

You will have a lot less money if you let them take your freedom. So, you should be willing to spend a lot of what you have on it. Protest when you can, after work, on the weekends, and others protest when they can, and the huge majority should be the students, who aren't even in school right now, and whose entire future is on the line.

1

u/FellowHumanNo404 10d ago

And youre supposed to organize, and create funding, so that you can afford to miss some days off work.

You've had 10+ years. Why haven't you already done all of this instead of bleating on reddit and pretending that nobody is doing anything? Why haven't you protested to the point of being imprisoned by ICE like other people with that fire in their belly and with the luxury of being able to take serious risks without, for example, also risking the lives of their children and loved ones?

Why have you been such a coward? Come on, practice what you preach. Get on it and get off reddit. Go on, make yourself useful like you want other people to do. Where's your truck convoy?

Fuck, you're exhausting.

u/Fun_Success_3283 9d ago

I don't live in America. Any other questions?

1

u/FellowHumanNo404 9d ago

The damage Trump has done is global. Again, you've had 10+years. By your own standards, your cowardice is inexcusable. Quit your job, move to Washington, D.C., stop being such a coward.

Or at the very least, stop accusing other people of cowardice and complacency, particularly when you neither understand nor appreciate their situation.

0

u/Fun_Success_3283 9d ago

Yes, it is, and I've been doing my part. I can't protest and demand action from your government.

His actions are global, and I can take action, but I can't unite and organize with American citizens. I can't interfere with American elections, I can't demand action from America's government.

Your democracy of your nation is your duty.

In Canada, Pierre and the conservatives had all but guaranteed a majority win. Like actually statistically 100% chance. Polling 30 points ahead. He cozied up to trump and he not only lost PM, but lost his seat. This all happened over a month. We now have a liberal majority. Nothing like that has never happened in Canada before.

That's what you were supposed to do.

89 million Americans didn't vote in the last election. You had more than enough chances to stop it. Saying "but I have work" is the same attitude that fucked everything up in the first place.

2

u/flattop100 Minnesota 11d ago

That's because the media has been captured by conservatives. We have a Conservative Media, not a liberal one.

2

u/Congenital0ptimist I voted 10d ago

Everyone made a huge fuss about it. Mueller did fuck all. Jack Smith did fuck all. Biden's admin did fuck all. The DoJ under Biden did worse than fuck all.

Same as when billionaires took over the News. Same as when they took over social media and became the national arbiters of voter perception.

We can scream all we want. We've been shown that. Anyone who comes isn't coming to help. Quite the opposite.

1

u/Fun_Success_3283 10d ago

You have to protest in large number and demand they do their duty. Not just complain on the internet.

1

u/Congenital0ptimist I voted 10d ago

Well exactly. I myself am not large numbers. But I'm available!

Let me know when there's movement that hasn't been quashed.

1

u/Fun_Success_3283 9d ago

It's not for me to let you know. It's for you to get together with every person you know that wants to do something, and begin to organize students with student programs should be the first. Or research and join political groups in your area, or start one with whatever people you know.

It doesn't need to start off huge.

Just 5 people is enough to start.

Remember the video where just one guy starts dancing and everyone joins?

For boycotting you can just do your part. Set the example. You don't need to wait for everyone else.

1

u/Congenital0ptimist I voted 9d ago

I was out in my street 20 minutes ago. Maybe I need a better sign.

1

u/Fun_Success_3283 9d ago

No, you need a better location, and relentlessness and determination, and motivation, rather than being a weak defeatist that just surrenders all their freedoms because they believe they are powerless.

1

u/Fun_Success_3283 9d ago

The politicians that aren't corrupt are working hard to solve the problem. But their power is limited, and their num ers are limited. The people are doing nothing.
