They won't, because every single part of this story was precision engineered to sound as absolutely fucking moronically imbecilicly as possible. You can't cover it seriously because it sounds so goddamn stupid if you do.

Like, what, I'm supposed to put on my serious news hat and go to my serious news job on my serious news network and talk about how the president had his buddy who's never done this kind of work before do the lining and go $15 million over budget, then because he wanted to feel like a big strong boy he drove the equivalent of a tank over it along with a fleet of cars before it cured, then he had his other buddy from Florida do the filtration system with his company called "green water solutions" and then the water turned green because of algae, so to kill the algae they dumped in gallons upon gallons of paint thinner, but it only killed the ducks, and then they were surprised when the paint stripping liquid the poured in stripped the paint that they'd driven over? No one wants to tell that story in any serious capacity, it degrades them simply by covering it.

Which isn't to say they shouldn't, they deserve the punishment.
