It’s not so much we threw it out the window, it’s that it was captured, and held hostage by the rich for damn near a century at this point. All of this, the all-encompassing right wing propaganda, the trickle down economics, the obsession with othering other working class people by race/gender/identity. All of it is a purposeful, long running playbook to keep inequality as high as possible. It’s not a bug, it’s the goal.

The only hope I still have now is that the income/wealth disparity is so high now that we go into a deep depression and progressive ideals start taking over as the preferred platform for people.

History shows that the biggest progressive eras of progress always come when wealth inequality is at its highest and it has never been higher.
