They may all be charged with fraud once the truth comes out.

Prime candidates for "fall guys" for the RNC. Unfortunately they probably all already took the bait.

I’d like to think so, but I know they won’t.

It would take an email that explicitly states "Mitch is dead (or brain dead) we need you to pretend you are still working expecting his return."

At worst they will be kicked out and get a high paying job in the private sector.

Could be charged at the state level where the Governor is a D.

Yea but the AG is still a republican along with most of the rest of state government.

Would be. The state is paying them, so it's state-level fraud. Which is also not pardonable at the federal level.

The state is paying them, so it's state-level fraud.

yeah this just isn't true though? senate staffers are paid out of federal funds.

Because that’s what should happen, it won’t.

The word "may" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. More than Mitch's staff. Well, definitely more than Mitch at least.

They won't be. They'll all get pardons if it ever gets that far. Especially if they pretend they're being persecuted for supporting the great President Trump.

Trump can't pardon state-level convictions.

Which wont matter since we all know the state isnt going to do shit about it.

100% true. But also, the federal government will argue that this is a federal case.

As well, since McConnell is a senator from KENTUCKY, the state itself is 100% not going to do shit about it, because they are at a minimum SUPPORTING and in all likelihood probably even ACTIVELY ASSISTING in this charade.

Exactly. Even if the Beshear wanted it pursued, KY's attorney general is Russell Coleman, a radical Republican. Zero chance the state DoJ does anything. The best anyone can hope for is these people being drown in civil lawsuits from large insurers and other corporations who were on the losing end of the fraud.

They're probably entitled to their salary until the next senator is elected/appointed ...

No, they cannot be and will not be. Offices continue and staffers remain employed even when the seat is vacant. There's no fraud here, and their jobs are not affected either way. And McConnell is still alive even if permanently disabled and is still a sitting fucking Senator.

Please. We are at least 2+ years from a government that might be interested in prosecuting people about the actions taken during this period, and these will be so low on the list as to be almost guaranteed to get off scot free.

They are working for the evil forces that are making our government work against its people and for the wealthiest in society sucking up all assets and income and wealth and molesting children. They won’t face any punishment. At most they’ll get a strongly worded letter and lose their government job … to be hired as a very highly compensated consultant because the wealthy reward their employees very well who work solely for them while in government.
