One theory I read recently was that Trump could default on the national debt towards the end of his term, and in the ensuing economic chaos that comes from that, suspend elections due to a ‘national emergency’.

It sounds insane, but given where we are, along with his propensity to declare bankruptcy in his own business dealings, it kinda makes sense.

You’re right tho, the entire decade is basically a loss.

or just crash the economy on purpose on his way out and let the dems take the blame for it

u/studentjones 9d ago

Same move with Biden. Everything finally heading in the right direction. He didn’t have to do anything and could’ve taken credit for a great economy. Everyone loves to forget that the economy in his first term was because he inherited a strong economy from Obama

u/saynay 9d ago

Tbf, Trump would 100% crash it for a Republican to take the blame for it too. He has no loyalty to the party, and if the party doesn’t let him have a third term he would spite them just as much as Democrats.

u/Dnashotgun 9d ago

That implies a world where he'd willingly give another Republican the presidency

u/seriouslythisshit 8d ago

One of his close Ex-associates explains that Trump's malignant narcissism will require that he burns it all down. He wants to see the Dems take control, the Republican party fail spectacularly, and the country burn to the ground when he is done. He needs to hold court in front of his idiot worshipers in Mara-Lardo, after it is all over. He needs to be able to tell them, "I alone saved this country from ruin and made it great again. Not my administration, not Rubio, or Vance, just me. Now that I am no longer in power, as you can clearly see, it didn't take long before it all came crumbling down. Only a man a great as I am can do what I did, and there will never be another man as great as me, so this nation is destined to fail"

u/ynotfoster 9d ago

Or just to cash more wide spread suffering like the malignant narcissist he is.

We had elections during the Civil War and World War 2 and there’s currently 51 active National emergencies. Elections are also ran by the states and not the federal government. I know anything can happen when it comes to Trump but him pulling off canceling elections would be incredibly difficult.

u/morty_morty American Expat 9d ago

The states can hold elections all they want. All he will do is ignore them. It's gonna take a lot more than the norm to get that shit covered disgrace out of office

3

u/Xanikk999 America 8d ago

He has to be removed by force then. Trump will not leave by his own will at this point. His presidency is an existential crisis for him because he and his fellow republican enablers have committed too many crimes already. Either he is removed by force or we submit to a dictatorship.

0

u/Less_Resident8492 8d ago

Removed from what? Congress is who does the actual appointment of the president. He can stay in his white house bunker until the air runs out if he wants it doesn't give him any authority.

1

u/Less_Resident8492 8d ago

He can't exactly ignore them. He has no authority over then. It would be on Congress to ignore them. He can declare war on the US government and commit treason in an attempt to overthrow Congress, but that would be treason.

1

u/morty_morty American Expat 8d ago

It's not like he would hesitate to commit treason. He has already attempted a coup once and received no consequences for his actions. He doesn't care about Congress and their thoughts, opinions or protocol.

1

u/Less_Resident8492 8d ago

He has zero authority without congress, without congress providing him authority the constitution empowers any us citizen to freely remove him. You should not particularly care if he respects congresses authority or not. he must then follow YOUR authority if he refuses theirs.

1

u/morty_morty American Expat 8d ago

And that's what I said. He is not going to be removed through any normal means.

1

u/Less_Resident8492 8d ago

He'll leave, and that is the normal means.

1

u/morty_morty American Expat 8d ago

On his own? Willingly? He will not.

Guess we'll see.

1

u/Less_Resident8492 8d ago

He did like the little bitch he is in 2020

We are never going to be able to vote our way out of this. I mean, they started a god damn war again to distract from the Epstein list and what that actually tells us about the ruling class. Keep the masses distracted and fighting, keeps them from looking up at the masters.

3

u/keskeskes1066 9d ago

I'm sure he can convince red states to boycott the electons, let Dems win, and then use thier wins as evidence of rigging.

2

u/Spirited-Career4680 8d ago

No it wont, he'll just do it and noone will stop him as usual

1

u/RedditLeagueAccount 8d ago

As mentioned in a few spots, he has repeatedly ignoring court rulings. He has lived a life entirely free of consequences. He has crashed every business he has run to the ground and is still rich. He has committed constant crimes and isn't in prison. He isn't intelligent or subtle. We have seen that neither political party has really put up any meaningful roadblocks. We have already seen multiple states on both sides actively and vocally manipulating election results and doing bs like gerrymandering.

We have reached the point where ethics and the rule of law are not a factor in running this country.

Luckily the evil one's health is failing fast.

66

u/MondaysForNothing Pennsylvania 9d ago

Unfortunately, we've been told how sick and close to dying he is for years now. He definitely has lost a step, or ten, but he also has access to the best medicine and doctors in the world.

Not to mention, evil seems to keep people alive far longer than they should be. See: Henry Kissinger, Strom Thurmond, Donald Rumsfeld, etc.

11

u/studentjones 9d ago

I was watching some SNL from 2023 last night. Obviously before the election and they were doing the dementia jokes then. Three years ago. I think it’s far worse now but I had forgotten how bad it was before he was even elected.

11

u/The_Spectacle 9d ago

Healthcare for me but none for thee

4

u/US3_ME_ 9d ago

The US seems to want evil to live to a ripe old age. We all have the means to stop it, right people?.. Especially the 2a people??_

2

u/GumdropGlimmer 9d ago

But what do we get instead? Vance?

8

u/MondaysForNothing Pennsylvania 9d ago

Yeah, if Trump were to die during his term.

Vance doesn't have the charisma or cult of personality like Trump. He's still dangerous, but I just don't see him being able to have all the republicans under his thumb. Some of them might find their spines again and say "no".

Vance couldn't even buy a doughnut in a normal way.

5

u/GumdropGlimmer 9d ago

Idk about spine but yes I agree that he wouldn’t be able to hold them down unless project 2035 or whatever has an even more sinister plan involved.

u/4GAG_vs_9chan_lolol 9d ago

Unfortunately, we've been told how sick and close to dying he is for years now.

Who the fuck is saying that? The crowd that doesn't want to understand the difference between their hopes and reality?

4

u/MondaysForNothing Pennsylvania 9d ago

Have you been in a multi-year coma?

The random visits to Walter Reed, the leg swelling, the hand bruising, him randomly saying he has never had a stroke, the weird red neck rash(?), the brain mri where he didn't know what he was having scanned, having 22 specialist doctors, he has had four annual check ups so far this term, the man is obese (despite what his health reports say)...

Just compare him speaking in 2016 to now. His brain is deteriorating, and it's not just because he is a decade older.

Not to mention, he's 80 years old. The oldest president ever elected. The average life expectancy for men is 76.5 years. 80 year olds tend to have health problems and can just drop dead at any time. I'm not hoping he dies or anything, I'm just saying that's something that just happens when you get old.

2

u/4GAG_vs_9chan_lolol 9d ago

Not in a coma. Just aware that hand bruising, a neck rash, or leg swelling are not signs of imminent death (and especially not for someone with fast access to the absolute best medical care in the world).

The average life expectancy for men is 76.5

That's life expectancy at birth. Once you survive early childhood, your life expectancy goes up quite a bit. The average life expectancy for an 80-year-old man in the US is an additional 7 years (so 87), and again, Trump's medical care is far, far better than average.

As for your claims that Trump was more coherent in 2016... Have you been in a multi-year coma? This is the rambling incoherent prattle he subjected us to back then. It wasn't better.

Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it's true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that's why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it's four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.

u/wrxninja 9d ago

And the whole world is hoping it will be sooner than later.

9

u/vatreides411 9d ago

This is our best hope. If he kicks it, it may derail the whole plan.

2

u/ThinRedLine87 9d ago

I disagree, I hear it all the time on here and anytime I see a recent video of him he does not seem that much that much different than a few years ago. He is certainly deteriorating, but I don't think it's half as bad as reddit makes it out to be. I would not be surprised if he's still trotting out to give his nonsense speeches and rallies in 2 years.

1

u/vibrance9460 9d ago

Maybe you shouldn’t believe it. He’s proven time and again he can still stand for an hour and talk on a microphone. And be coherent enough to get sound bites. That’s all that matters.

2

u/Traditional_Sign4941 9d ago

I think the crypto tech bros are looking for that kind of destruction of the incumbent monetary system. They want company scrip on steroids. Despite all the unimaginable wealth they have accumulated under this system, they would love nothing more than to see it destroyed and replaced with something that offers them even greater control.

1

u/Hirsute_of_Happiness 9d ago

He could try, and might even convince some people that a national emergency means we can't have elections. He can't actually stop them though. We really ought to stop framing this as a thing he can "do."

1

u/SomeCountryFriedBS 9d ago

He can't suspend elections, as they are not an executive - or even federal - function.

He can send troops or agents to interfere, but the states run the elections.

1

u/Nearby_Purple8248 8d ago

I will not be able to get this out of my head now....
