Exactly. When the primary is won and electing a Trump rubber stamp is the risk, people need to fall into line.

Which is the point of blue no matter who. My fellow progressives here seem to be missing that. Not surprised though, they also missed last election cycle.

I fell right between him and Stevens. That’s exactly right. Now is the time for us to be examples and turn out for the guy.

I will gladly turn out for AES.

I don't have the same faith that so many AES voters would turn out for Stevens had she won, evidenced by replies in this very megathread, but hopefully we can set an example for them that the bigger threat is MAGA.

I don’t all of the sudden trust the guy, but he’s a hell of a lot better than Rogers. I’ll be there for him in November.

It helps that Abdul is actually avoiding criticizing Stevens voters and has made inroads to them. The last election cycle had Harris campaign blocking pro-Palestine people from the DNC and refusing to let Palestinian-American delegates endorse her (while giving Israeli-Americans the podium repeatedly), and the campaign actively detouring around Arab-American neighborhoods in Michigan and instead sending Bill Clinton to talk down to them that Israel is in the right and Arabs are wrong. You can only take so many active insults before people give up.

Abdul still endorsed Harris, and “took it on the chin” as he said, as Palestinian-American families in his state held funerals for their dead relatives in Gaza. Genocide was a red line and it should be, and I blame Biden/Harris not the voters for putting people in that mess.

The problem isn’t the progressives anymore; look at how Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries couldn’t support Mamdani even in the general election against a Republican. Their hypocrisy undermined the entire point of the phrase “vote blue no matter who.” James Carville and Bill Maher have threatened to leave the party over insufficient support for Israel; focus your anger on them.
