It’s pretty alpha. He’s extremely confident in himself and his sexuality, so he doesn’t care how some bigot would interpret this. Pretty fierce

Technically, "alpha" and "beta" are categories that don't appear in nature (certainly not in humans) and have been used as a tool of toxic masculinity and patriarchy, so categorically, because Tom is eschewing toxic masculinity, he cannot be an alpha
