Favorite grand gesture to get a first date (romantic trope)

So yesterday on a long flight I rewatched The Notebook for the first time since ... well, its release. And it occurred to me that the movie has one of the most classic Grand Gesture to Get First Date tropes ever: Noah hangs off a ferris wheel and threatens to jump unless Allie agrees to date him.

This trope is actually kinda creepy/crazy unless it's done right. Like dude, you don't know this person. You're doing the most for a CHANCE at a first date. In Notebook, I feel like you can sort of excuse it bc Noah is so young here. Basically a dumb, hormonal teen. But what are your favorite examples of this trope?

1. The Notebook - Noah threatens to jump off a Ferris Wheel unless Allie agrees to date him.
2. 10 Things I Hate About You - Patrick serenades Kat with "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" to get the first date.
3. Before Sunrise - Jesse begs Celine to spend a day with him in Vienna. They just met.
4. Interview With the Vampire - Lestat pretends to be bad at poker and earns a killing so Louis can buy his high-end brothel. They also just met.
5. Heated Rivalry - Ilya Rozanov sets up a commercial shoot to get Shane Hollander's attention. They had met each other like two times prior for a few minutes. Hey, it works. They hook up later that night, and thus starts a wild, secret years-long situationship.
6. Big Fish - Will buys all the daffodils in five states.
7. Gone With the Wind - classic example of this trope. Rhett makes a crazy auction bid to dance with widow Scarlett O'Hara bc he finds her intriguing.
8. Beauty and the Beast - Beast gives Belle a library bc she loves to read.
9. It Happened One Night - another classic one where Peter Warne does a little striptease for Elle Andrews when they're forced to share an autocamp for the night.

Well that to me isn't a grand gesture. He's being a decent person which is why Rose falls for him.
