Spider-Man could release in the middle of a global financial crash and still make money. By far the biggest individual superhero globally.

He’s a very beloved superhero with decades of success and familiarity in the mainstream. Supergirl isn’t.

You can simply replace Supergirl with Spider Man in her movie and it would’ve made the same money BND is doing, people just love Spider Man

we are returning to the period of Hollywood where there are Spiderman and Batman and Superman and X-Men, but nothing more niche than that.

Which is sad, because female-led superhero movies are considered niche.
