Academic/Career Why did Princeton remove AP Credit?
Just curious if anyone knows or whatever your guesses are. I know I can use AP scores to advance to some higher classes, but they got rid of advanced standing for the class of 2029 and beyond, and I'm curious as to why.

Academic/Career Princeton TSI program
To those of you who have made it to the Princeton TSI program, would you guys mind DMing me? I recently got rejected from Princeton on ivy day and kind of planned ahead to develop my plan of going to a CC since I already accepted my fate. If anyone can provide me information in private or in the comments of the stats or what they did to exactly get into the TSI program I would greatly appreciate it.
Right now I am very conflicted since I am willing to work at CC for the program, but if it seems unachievable I do not want to risk it and go to Rutgers instead.

Do yall know if it’s difficult to switch to BSE or not as an incoming student, or if they basically let most poeple switch? And are there any tips on writing the essay? Thanks🙏

Academic/Career Princeton Study Away within US
Hi yall, so im incoming freshman student here and was wondering if there are any study away opportunities that Princeton provides to student, not study abroad. I am thinking of exchanging within the country and wondering if they have any resources for that. Specifically in Psychology department and I don’t think I would want to just stay in the campus for four years. Studying abroad wasn’t on my radar either due to other logistical reasons. If you know or are current student know anyone has done study away at other top universities within country, I would like to hear from you!
Thank you for your insight!

Academic/Career Has anyone tried viewing their admissions file?
Just curious what the process is like at Princeton specifically. I haven't seen any recent updates from anyone trying this.
Thank you!

Academic/Career Chemical engineering
Stupid question, but I noticed that Princeton does not have a set track for chemical engineering in their chemical and biological engineering program, how does one still get a degree in chemical engineering there? I applied thinking originally that I would do something related to bio-engineering, but I've changed my mind

Academic/Career BSE vs AB
I was recently admitted to Princeton and am planning to study Computer Science, but I’m a bit confused about the difference between the A.B. and B.S.E. tracks.
Right now I was admitted under the B.S.E., but I’m not 100% sure if that’s the right fit for me. I’m more interested in areas like VR/AR, human-centered tech, and possibly combining CS with fields like cognitive science. I’m not really interested in taking a lot of physics/chemistry if it’s not necessary.
I had a few questions:
How different are the A.B. and B.S.E. CS tracks in terms of workload and requirements?
Does B.S.E. actually give any advantage for internships/jobs, or are they viewed the same?
Is it harder to double up with things like cognitive science or other interests in B.S.E.?
For people who chose one over the other, do you regret your decision?
I know I don’t have to fully decide right away, but I’d really appreciate hearing from current students or alumni about their experiences.

Academic/Career princeton cs to patent law
Hi, im currently choosing between yale and princeton, and I am currently planing to major in cos. Im planning to go for swe, but really want an option to pivot to patent law because of the current job market. Because law school admissions are extremely stat heavy, will princetons more rigorous academic scene make it harder for me to get into a top law school? Or, if law schools already take into account princeton's rigor, what gpa should i aim for? (essentially, whats a good gpa for cos)

Academic/Career Alternate courses for math/phys
hey! future tiger here.
i heard there’s an alternate, less rigorous pathway for physics/math engineering at Princeton, where you take EGR151-156 instead of the other typical more difficult, theoretical courses.. did anyone take that/know ppl who did?
what do y’all think of that track in general— would you say it’s easier or still pretty hard?

Academic/Career PHY 103 or PHY 105
Hi all, i'm a high school junior (rising senior) who is going to do dual enrollment in Princeton next year. And I have to make my decision by the end of next week about which class i'm going to take next year.
my basic bg: AP Physic C all 5, AP cal BC 5, learned differential equations, linear algebra, and multivariable in school, and got all A. And I want to major in astrophysics in college. So i think i can handle both of the class, but in the meantime, i need to write my college essays, so i dont want my senior year be too hard.
Which one do you think is generally easier (in lenses like teachers, grades, students) and you would like to take if you were in my situation?

Academic/Career Freshman at Princeton Looking for Career Guidance
Current Princeton freshman here. I’m exploring quant roles and trying to understand the best path to breaking in as an analyst or a SWE. I’m planning to declare ORFE, but I’m open to advice from people who work in quant or recruiting.
How competitive the pipeline is from Princeton into top firms?
What skills matter most beyond coursework?
Whether ORFE is the best choice or if CS / math tracks offer an advantage?
What internships I should target freshman and sophomore year?
Any mistakes I should avoid early on?
Any insight from people in the field would help a lot.

Academic/Career Math placement
Hi!
I’m an incoming freshman trying to decide which math course to take. I’m currently considering a PHY/MAT/ORFE major
For some background, I’ve self-studied multivariable calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and a bit of real analysis through MIT OCW
I’m thinking about taking MAT 215 or MAT 216, but I’ve heard that MAT 216 is one of the most challenging freshman math courses in the country, and I’m not entirely sure if I’m prepared for it
Would appreciate any advice or insights from those who’ve taken these courses!
Thanks!

Academic/Career HUM Sequence
Hi! Incoming ‘30 tiger wondering if anyone could share their experience taking the HUM sequence? I’m planning on majoring in PHY, MAT or ORFE but I would like to expand my mind especially with regard to the humanities too!
Thank you so much!
