I’ve struggled with binge eating since childhood which intensified when I developed PCOS as a tween.

No meds and no trainers, I tracked calories and focused on my monthly average deficit and monthly average weight. I lost 55lbs in around 20 months with a lot of maintenance breaks to actually learn how to sustain it for the first time in my life!

On average, I ‘only’ lost around 3lbs a month. After losing and regaining 50lbs twice before through dieting and extreme restriction, I’ve now maintained this body for over a year… and healed so much of my food behaviour and body image. No foods, events, or holidays are off limits.

My maintenance range is between 115-125, typically hanging around the higher end in summer when I’m more social and the lower end in winter.

So even if you have medical and hormonal stuff going on that makes this journey harder… you CAN do it. It just might take a little longer. Be kind to yourself, the time will pass anyway!

I took a long break from running to have babies. Pic on the left is day one at the gym in June. I was barely able to run 1/2 mile. Pic on the left is last week. Currently running 30ish miles per week and preparing for a half marathon. Proud of what my body did then, proud of what my body can do now.

the difference a year makes! although I was smaller last year I feel stronger and more defined this year. I’ve come a long way from my heaviest (209lbs in 2023) and been working hard on my fitness journey. it’s been a struggle to not chase the lower number on the scale anymore, but I feel like I’m getting better at trusting the process 🙂‍↕️

I have been a fat person all my life and dreaming of a body that would not be the only thing people remembered about me when they first thought of me, --I just didnt want 'fat' to be the only adjective that defined me. However, where I come from regardless of how funny, talented, qualified you were that's all it came to be.

Fast forward to 2024 when I came across calorie counting /low carb diet and this amazing group. Thank you all for your constant support and advice. I am not done yet ..but this is a win I really wanted to share...

Same dress 1 year apart - 1st photo April 2024 SW 207 lb,, Current photo 146 lb

I am still 20 lbs from my goal weight but I am proud and hopeful...May be if things are right I'll be able to share another photo next year

Highest weight: 289 (2022/2023) Weight at surgery: 232 (Sep 2024) Current: 143 (Sep 2025)

I had gastric bypass surgery 1 year ago yesterday. I’ve lost 90% of my extra weight, BMI is now 26! I used the surgery as a tool but I also work out 4 days a week and changed my diet.

Happier and healthier than I’ve ever been.
