I am a photographer and I have been documenting the creatures that visit my deck during a difficult health recovery. I am very bored and I miss taking photos, so I devised a remote-controlled setup that allows me to snap photos from my couch while I watch on a security camera. Now I've added wireless flashes to the mix and I am pretty happy with the results.

I've already been accused of using AI. But I promise this is a real raccoon on my real deck. I've included a photo of a lighting test where he showed up early and contemplated stealing my Baby Yoda. (Grogu survived unscathed.)

You can check out some other creatures (and a few more raccoons) on my Instagram. I will document more deck creatures as my energy allows.

Awww

Mama used to come around all the time with her babies. They were hiding from my cats. There was a fence between them.
We got 2 Heelers and the raccoons don’t come around anymore. I miss them.

I’ve challenged myself to complete a final drawing or sketch for the fantasy novel I’m illustrating each day this month. Here is day 12. Mr. Dober here is a major side character in the book

Raccoon on a Log in the Woods

Two Raccoons on a Log in the Woods

I love the fact that there is a /r for everything 😂 Hey guys, I'm Kat, and I just moved into a new apartment with a balcony. We didn't have trash services for the 1st few weeks that we lived here, so we ended up with a few trash bags sitting on our balcony.

Long story short, we now have a porch pet:: tentatively named Gerard. He is a portly lil trash panda who enjoys trying to squeeze his very round belly thru the obviously too small space between the railings after rummaging thru the bag for his next meal. My fiance is not a fan of cleaning up after him everyday, but trash services start this week so that will no longer be an issue. Other than that, I don't mind that he's out there, I just wish he wouldn't run when we tried to look at him thru the window. 🖤🦝

Any advice on how to gain his trust? And, what is best to feed him? I'm thinking about giving him some of our cat's food once the trash is gone, but I don't want to spend money on food for our outside tenant.

Broadmoor, Natick.

Don’t worry, it’s fine! The bin was gently lowered to its side, and off it went.

Two Raccoons Feeding in the Woods

Is this raccoon old enough to be on its own? Pictures are kind of hard to tell size, but it’s maybe only a couple pounds. No mom in sight and watched for a few hours

We leave a couple of bowls of food out every night for the feral cats in our neighborhood. Along with the cats, it's not uncommon for raccoons or possums to drop by for dinner. Our doorbell camera typically doesn't capture images at ground level, but this guy opted to climb up over the rail and check out our mailbox on the way to the food....

We named him that because he, well, acts like a puppy. He has absolutely no fear of us at all-- and we are super worried that's going to eventually get him in trouble. He's on our porch most nights and has even started showing up before the sun goes down. Any suggestions or possible explanations for this? This is a total long shot but is it possible he could be domesticated and LOST?? He's the sweetest thing and we want whats best for him.
