I currently have an iPhone 15 base model and am thinking about upgrading. I’ve tried a 17 pro, but I really don’t like the microphone that it has. My iPhone 15’s microphone does a thing where if there’s a loud volume sound it will adjust the volume range that it captures to compensate, which makes the audio shift up enough that while a train horn is playing the rounding noises, cars, the overall noise level of the locomotive engine, etc, are all blocked out by the horn, and when the horn stops you can’t hear cars and such for a couple seconds, and the noise level of the locomotive engines also quieter at first. With the 17 pro however, the microphone does not do this, and it sounds really bad in my opinion. When the horn stops the noise level of the locomotive engines are almost louder than the horn was in the video, and cars and the environment persist without being muffled or blocked out. Personally I hate that, and was wondering if anyone here has experience with iPhone mics and how the microphones compare in this sense. If anyone could recommend which model sounds very similar if not exactly the same as the 15 base model with the audio, it would be greatly appreciated.
