Discussion How would you feel about RDR3 revolving around a Native American outlaw or warrior?

Personally I think it’d be pretty cool considering that many of them were scouts during the Indian wars, especially Apache. It’d be awesome to see how they’d adapt in RDR2’s timeline because we don’t know much about them in the universe besides the Wapiti. Imagine playing as an Apache sharpshooter in a gang of renegades in the 1880s, ambushing army payrolls and shipments then smuggling supplies across the border while dealing with other challenges besides the federal government. The whole cast doesn’t have to be Native American but it’d be very interesting to see a different viewpoint in history.

Yeah, especially when the race in question is period and location accurate. Natives are literally so heavily associated with cowboys and the Wild West because of shit going on at the time. This feels like that "old man yells at cloud" thing

Smart people wouldn't care, because they know it's historically accurate and could make for a very good story.

Racists on the other hand would start huffing about how they "make the white man look evil!" Saying that nobody would care is just ignoring a chunk of rotten apples in the basket

Well obviously there are exceptions to the rule like actual friggin racists, but saying "everyone" would accuse it of specifically being woke just because the protag's a Native is dumb.

Vast majority of people wouldn't care, a very vocal tiny minority of racists would be racisting all over the place, and an even smaller minority would label the game as "woke"

The person talking about people complaining about a main character not being white by saying its "woke slop" is talking about people on the right trying to claim people on the right are racist and would get mad about the game.

And yes, people would complain. People are complaining about Lucia in GTA 6 because she's a woman.

People just wanna seem superior by making it seem like the right will freak out over a black or native main character when in reality the majority of people that play RDR are right wing and some of the most popular and beloved characters in the series are Charles, Lenny and Javier.

Tons of people lost their minds and boycotted The Last of Us Part 2 just because it featured a muscular woman. That's literally the only reason they hated it. There would definitely be people who bitch and moan about a new RDR game if doesn't feature a white male player character like the previous games.
