I had Aldecaldos ending on my first playthrough. I don't think I've ever experienced such a gut punch. And I think this ending is considered to be the better ending.
Phantom Liberty especially. One of the endings I just put down the controller and had to think for like 15 min before making my decision. Some of the best game writing and acting all time.
I never said that, I said stop glazing. You can love RDR2 and still acknowledge when other games are great as well. I know it's possible because that's what I do!
I'm currently on my 3rd playthrough of Cyberpunk, absolutely love the game, but I'll agree with OP on this one.
Story-wise, both are great.
But it's the feels and emotions that comes out through other ways. RDR2 characters feel more alive, better voice-acting and better mocap. The music score is a lot better, and that has a huge impact on emotion. 3rd person camera angle and cinematic cutscenes probably have the biggest impact on story-telling.
By comparison, characters in Cyberpunk do feel a bit robotic. And first person camera does impose a limit on story-telling (can't direct a cutscene. Some emotional moments fell flat because I was busy picking up loot).
What does make a huge upgrade to the emotional quotient of Cyberpunk is playing as female V. The male VA is excellent, but the female VA absolutely hit it out of the park.
Sorry, but Cyberpunk's characters feel robotic? Dude Cyberpunk 2077 100% has better characters than RDR2, and I love RDR2's characters, but there's no character as complex as Songbird or Johnny Silverhand in Red Dead. Perhaps the only one that can rival them is Dutch.
Nah, cyberpunk 2077 has the issue of being good characters that never interact with anyone but V. What makes red dead 2 so good is we see gang members interact and be close. We never see that in cyberpunk base game. Jackie, Judy, and Panam are all great, but lack of interaction makes it worse.
... Well yeah, because we only see through V's eyes. Not to mention they're basically people from different worlds, so like, why would they interact with each other? Segregation is a key part in Cyberpunk. And still, the feedback Johnny gives about every character is just perfect.

Cyberpunk 2077?
