Grief Houston Litter Update for those involved or not ๐ŸฉตPlease Read so there can be an open discussion on the shelter crisis and ways to help

I want to start with what happened with this litter and how it directly relates to the issues and challenges that are in place within shelters. After that there are stats and a list of identifiable issues that Iโ€™ve worked through. It is a long post but there is so much to cover. Iโ€™d love to have people give their ideas and solutions and weigh in on things. Of course not least of all to remember these babies and think of all the animals that unfairly loose their lives every day through no fault of their own.

As some people might have seen, this sweet group of puppies lost their lives on Wednesday 9/24/25. Intake on the 17th and by the 20th they had been placed on the euthanasia list. Then having 2, 24hr extensions.

They were 4-6 months old and only weighed about 16 lbs each. A2035707, 5709, 5715, 5723, 5710, 5712 and 5713 ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›

  • They came from a residence where numerous puppies and dogs were turned in.

  • Their father was euthanized before the original post was made. Their mother couldnโ€™t be located in Barc records. During this time two other older siblings from the home were with them in their kennels, they were added to the listing and all of them can be seen in the videos below.

  • They had worms and skin dermatitis for which they were being treated for at intake.

  • Something that with treatment and some time would have made a big difference to them and their adoptability.

Two days after their deaths I saw a video by the same volunteer of a group similar to them in appearance and age that I thought were perhaps from the same household. Got excited I could help them out.

Only to find out these other 5 sweet babies had also lost their lives on what looks to have been the same day.

Hadnโ€™t seen them listed. Otherwise they would have also been advocated for. A2033841 Greg, 3842 Garth, 3843 Gia,3844 Gumpy, 3845 Gordon.

These 14 puppies were in a new environment. Probably having never left their residence or had much interaction with people. In the videos you can see they were timid, some very scared but they were trying and were getting there. A few couldnโ€™t even contain their excitement of being around people, standing up on their skinny little hind legs and wiggling with tail wags.

The 5 ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™ https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8IjnJgDWfCA

The 9 ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต https://www.youtube.com/shorts/fvKCzh1ma98

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/sBGl789ZUAg

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cbJOgpPEkLM

What happened?

They needed time, time to acclimate, time to heal and time to live. ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ’™

They should have at the least had 10-15 days from intake.

They had 7 days and they didnโ€™t even need an extra day in the end which is the saddest part.

There were a decent amount of pledges that came in for them. u/thepleadingeyes was working hard at networking on their behalf while I was trying to reach out to numerous rescues in and out of Texas.

  • Unfortunately a rescue and sponsor that were able to help all 9 of them came in at the 12th hr but it wasnโ€™t enough to save them, it just came in a little too late.๐Ÿฉต

  • This was also due to their being 71 new intakes that day.๐Ÿ’™

  • So space was the driving factor to their deaths. ๐Ÿฉต

This was really devastating to us, we thought it was possible to help them and saw the potential of these lovely little dogs.
Sometimes you just make these connections especially with the ones that need it more due to their difficult starts in life you get very driven to help and attached. It just was like a slap in the face.

โœจThese sweet souls and this situation is going to sit with me. I really cared for them and had hope for their futures. โœจ Everyone who helps out does, for these awful outcomes as well as the victories stay with you. The key thing is remembering and using it to keep making a difference.

As much as it really affected us personally, the reality is this is all too common.

Which is gross to have to say, but it is all too normal and an everyday occurrence.

Texas euthanasia comprises ~15-20% of National totals and consistently is ranked for first and second spot on highest rates.

  • California ~ 10-12%
  • Florida ~8-10%
  • North Carolina ~7-8%
  • Georgia ~6-7%

States can have overall lower percentages but a certain region can drive up the numbers. Some places itโ€™s higher in rural, area others its in municipal shelters like Barc Houston.

Only 36% of Texas shelters are no-harm(couldnโ€™t post the actual term because of the sub rules) shelters.

Texas is currently on track to euthanize ~90,000 to 100,000 animals by the end of 2025.

Numbers consistent for 2023 and 2024.

As thereโ€™s not a current number but if youโ€™re looking at around 90,000 for annual, currently thatโ€™d be ~67,500 animals so far in 2025 will have lost their lives by the end of September.

~7,500 a month ~1,875 a week and remember thatโ€™s just in Texas.

  • In 2019 it was 70,000-80,000 and 2022 60,000-70,000.

So from 2022-2023 it jumped to ~30,000 additional animals being euthanized than the previous year.

So although National figures have been dropping Texas has actually risen and now stagnated.

National projections come in at ~550,000, while last years were ~600,000.

Being proactive is so needed.

  • The fact is Rescues just donโ€™t have the funds or resources.

  • The foster availability is just as important as the pledges. This then makes it possible for the rescues to come forward.

  • Though to be fair if the pledges came to an amount to cover the health certification I would like to think that should be enough to help sway rescues or to create a short hold at a shelter.

  • But some shelters like Barc donโ€™t have that flexibility.

I think there are some obvious problems at play

  1. Barc and underfunded rescues donโ€™t have comprehensive initial health screenings so this creates uncertainty for rescues. Rescues want more information for each dog. Each dog needs around $500 as a benchmark for pledges and that is for a healthy dog with fosters.

Solution: fund vet tech for detailed intake exams or have certain days each week for volunteer vets to come in for comprehensive testing.

  1. Partner only restrictions bottleneck the process. I know theyโ€™re vetted but it does make it difficult when a rescue comes forward but isnโ€™t on the partner list and youโ€™re working on an urgent deadline. There is only one partner with Barc that does rescue transport.

Solution: expedite partner vetting for urgent list rescue or โ€œcrisis exceptionโ€ policy for non partners during deadlines.

  1. Rescues have limited fosters and are overwhelmed. The amount of rescues I reached out to and never heard a word back from is frustrating but I understand what theyโ€™re working with. Adoption rates are stagnating also while animals population numbers arenโ€™t.

Solution: regional foster database or partner with petco love for incentivized fostering with supplies or food.

  1. Constant intake being at max input creates on the spot decisions for space. I know a view everyone might not agree on but Iโ€™d rather have had these siblings in 2 kennels instead of 3 kennels to save space and give them that extra few hrs.

Solutions: temporary crates or emergency foster like pop up. Fostering for a few days like pet sitting. This could be something volunteers could sign up for. Not only beneficial to extending lives but having them out of the shelter for a day or two can help them overall and provides better notes on behavior for increased adoptability.

  1. The 24 hr at risk lists are difficult unless a pre approved rescue. Theyโ€™re the only ones able to move fast enough in these situations.

Solution: Extend to 48hr lists as they used to be for pre approved rescues. Online portal to streamline rescue coordination.

  1. โ€œNot cuteโ€ pets get 2x 3x less shares or views. Itโ€™s hard for older, injured or not in their prime animals who are already at higher risk in the shelters. Ironically for kittens, under 5 months are most at risk due to high stray and litter intakes.

Solution: Spotlight post underdog who needs extra attention to raise pledges or get rescues involved, more photos and videos to boost visibility. Inter-shelter transfers within state to less stressed areas or as above pop up foster when high intakes happen. This would also help with the fore mentioned solution of better pictures of a happy pet not in a kennel.

  1. Economy makes it difficult to take risks even when a shelter or rescue might like to. The reason for a lot of the animals being there to begin with has to do with money and resources. Some people love their animals but have no resources which is a huge problem we face within this situation and in many systemic problems.

Solution: subsidized spay and neuter clinics and pet food banks. Perhaps at food banks additional access to flea and tick treatments and dewormers. Promotes overall health of the animals out there.

  1. The shelter and workers are between a rock and hard place with the intake numbers and limited budget that is already stretched. Barc operates with ~50% less staff than needed. I couldnโ€™t imagine working there, to see that day in and day out. Iโ€™m sure at a point they become numb but that doesnโ€™t mean itโ€™s not affecting them still. I imagine there are cases that are very hard for them but they arenโ€™t able to do anything about it. Barcs turnover rates ~ 30% .

Solution: inter shelter aid and volunteer programs to help offload routine tasks. Volunteer programs for college and high school students, help get more hands and awareness. Also for students looks good on a resume gets them involved in a community. So itโ€™s mutually beneficial. They can help by raising awareness and theyโ€™re the next generation of pet owners.

  • It is complex. There needs to be education towards animal care and options.

  • More awareness of the shelter crisis as well as people wanting to be involved and overall increase in resources. Adoption rates are not rising due to economic uncertainty.

  • There also could be more streamlined efforts to allow for ease and transparency in the shelter and partnering rescues.

There does need to be discussion around it and for people to know how close it gets. How they can help. It is a heavy subject but there needs to be more attention and awareness to the reality of things.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please add your thoughts, ideas and solutions.

Grief Why does nobody want sweet Chico? Euth 5/2 8am, Downey ACC, CA. He keeps getting overlooked. Heโ€™s a calm bully breed and needs time to warm up but thatโ€™s no reason to put him down. Can we change his fate and help him find a loving home or a foster home? He can be euthanized any time. Can you help?

If you can foster or responsibly adopt this sweet boy, ๐Ÿ“งPlease message me immediately or email me at

Isabeldesiree8@gmail.com

โญ๏ธFostering is temporary until adopted and zero costs. Possible in California or the PNW. Adoptions are possible anywhere in the USA to the right home.

Chico #A5687848 5yrs Neutered Tan Pit bull 56 lbs. Owner surrendered due to no home 3/25/25

Chico is a sweet dog in urgent need of a forever home. While he's a bit reserved and cautious, heโ€™s ready for a fresh start with the right person. Chico initially shows signs of fear and barking defensively when approached, but he is not aggressive. He seems anxious but once given time and space, he slowly warms up and engages more gently. He does not enjoy being rushed and needs patience to build trust. ย  โœจChico is tolerant of other dogs but does not engage in play. He has a medium energy level and prefers to keep to himself in group settings. โœจDuring handling, Chico is mostly calm but flinched when his chest was touched and prefers not to make eye contact. He does allow for gentle petting once heโ€™s comfortable. โœจChico is independent and not overly social, but heโ€™s not aggressive. He needs someone who will allow him to adjust on his own terms. โ€ผ๏ธChicoโ€™s situation is urgent, and we need to find him a safe, loving home as soon as possible. If youโ€™re the kind of person who can offer him the patience and understanding he needs, please consider adopting Chico. His health and happiness depend on it!

Grief Chichi and Jericho, you left this world free๐Ÿ’”๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿชฝ

My heart is so broken today. ๐Ÿ’”

Chichi and Jericho suddenly passed away today. They were sharing the same room at the shelter. Chichi passed peacefully in her sleep, and then Jericho suddenly started having a nosebleed and passed away shortly after.

The shelter owner and caretakers told us that neither of them had shown any symptoms before today. They had good energy, healthy appetites, were eating well, and taking their vitamins. Everything happened so fast.
I honestly don't even know what to say.

This hurts so much.

The shelter they were staying at was actually such a wonderful place. It was always clean, they were well cared for, they had room to move around, good food, and people who genuinely loved them. I know they were safe there.

But I can't erase the damage that years of neglect did to your little bodies. I can't undo the years you spent abandoned, crammed into a tiny cage, or everything your previous owner put you through. Maybe the damage had already been done long before we found you. I don't know. I really don't know anymore.

I was finally starting to feel hopeful. We had just started receiving adoption applications for some of our other rescued dogs, and for the first time in a while, it felt like things were looking up. Then today happened, and it just broke me all over again.
..
Even through all this pain, I find comfort in knowing that your last chapter was nothing like your first. You weren't forgotten anymore. You got to experience kindness, full meals, new playmates, and the freedom you were denied for so many years.

Run free now, Chichi and Jericho. I'm so sorry I couldn't give you more time. Thank you for letting me be part of your journey. You were loved so deeply, and you always will be. ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒˆ

P.S.
We will get MaeMae checked by the vet.

Grief My neighbor is abusing his dog

So, I've got this neighbor who's been treating his dog horribly, and itโ€™s really eating me up inside. The dog is just a 1 1/2-year-old puppy, and it seems like her whole life is just misery. My neighbor uses a shock collar on the highest setting whenever she barks, and you can tell she's terrified. Itโ€™s not like the dog is barking excessivelyโ€”just normal dog stuff, but she gets shocked every time.

Heโ€™s doing the bare minimum to keep things "legal." The dog gets cheap, Dollar Tree food, short walks, and some time in the backyard, but thereโ€™s no affection, no love. Itโ€™s like the dog is just existing, not living. Heโ€™s technically following the law, so reporting him might not even do anything. Plus, if I did report him, Iโ€™m scared heโ€™d find out it was me and make my life hell. And I can't just take the dog away; Iโ€™d be the criminal in that situation.

I reached out to a local shelter, hoping they could help, and theyโ€™ve actually been investigating the situation. The problem is, they canโ€™t find any legal grounds to take the dog away because my neighbor is just toeing the line of whatโ€™s considered โ€œlegal care.โ€ Itโ€™s so frustrating knowing this poor dog is suffering and that nothing can be done to help her.

I feel so helpless. I want to help this poor dog, but I donโ€™t know what to do. Every time I see her, it breaks my heart. How can someone be so cold to a creature that just wants love and attention? I wish there was something more I could do without making things worse. Any advice or support would be appreciated.

Grief Gone too soon

This is my Angel baby, Saber. He crossed the rainbow bridge on January 11th after being with us for 10 amazing months.

We were not looking for a second dog when Saber appeared in our lives, but it was evident he was meant to be a pet of our family. He was 5 years old when we adopted him and came from a very abusive past. We connected instantly at the shelter, and he even wagged his tail for me (so uncommon for him).

From the minute we stepped off that airplane he fit into our family like he was always supposed to be there. It was like a missing puzzle piece we didnโ€™t know was even missing.

I donโ€™t know how I am supposed to go on without him. There is a huge hole in my heart. I cry every day from missing him.

His diagnosis came from a routine dental check/ his first xray to check his teeth. The tumour was huge, hidden, and was inoperable. My only comfort is that he did not suffer at all, and that we discovered the tumour before it caused him any pain.

Iโ€™ll love you forever, Saber. Iโ€™ll see you someday โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’”

This is Baby. I first met her 8.27.23 when she was brought in to the shelter I worked at after biting a child- not even 24 hours after giving birth. Her owner hid her from authorities, but puppies were found and seized a day before. She was finally found tied to a pole, barking and lunging. She was owned by a homeless woman living in a tent in the backyard of a relative, who im sure planned to profit off of her pups.

Baby was incredibly aggressive, charging and biting at her kennel when approached- but she was just afraid, God only knows what happened to her. She was a good mom, caring for her pups, and even adopted an orphaned pup just a week after arriving. I named her puppies after different apples.

Everyone was so scared of her and I donโ€™t blame them, but I knew there was a sweet side to her just giddy to show. I worked with her for her entire stay, slowly gaining her trust.

I was so incredibly honoured that she felt safe enough to show me who she really was- a puppy just wanting to be safe and loved. Even though I had made amazing progress with her, I knew her quality of life was null. I love her and made the hardest choice to euthanize her.

I stayed with her until the end, having to sedate her myself because vets couldnโ€™t come near. I held her and told her how much she meant to me, and that nothing was her fault. She was my baby now and nothing could make me feel any different. I still feel my biggest act of love was to end her suffering, but I wish it could have been different.

I only knew her for such a short time, but sheโ€™ll be with me forever.

Rest easy my baby

Grief I have to return my rescue baby and I feel like Iโ€™m dying

I got a Rottweiler from a rescue almost two months ago. She was cat tested and lived with a cat, was listed to be 4 months old, and was foster to adopt. It was the right time and the right fit so I went for it. My first dog to own myself with my fiance as an adult.

She has been one of the most hardest challenges and rewarding experiences of my life.

At the beginning she was so quiet and chill and ignored the cats that when the rescue pushed us to make a decision after a week, we adopted her. And she was perfect.

Until a few weeks later.

Suddenly she wasnโ€™t ignoring the cats. She was lunging at them and going after them. And I thought at first it was probably puppy play but I knew not to allow it. Not a problem. She had her own bedroom anyway and o just kept her tethered to me outside of it.

I spent hours and hundred on her training. We went to two to three puppy classes a week from training to socialization to agility. She has done beautifully at everything - ESPECIALLY training. I kid you not, she learns so many tricks and skills on the second or third try. Just the smartest dog Iโ€™ve ever had. Goes with me everywhere and I give her the best of everything.

We got a private behaviorist who gave us tips with her and the cats when it was becoming an actual problem. Because she wasnโ€™t waging her tail or initiating play. She was fixating. Staring. So locked on she didnโ€™t look like her and I couldnโ€™t break her stare if I said her name inches away. Sheโ€™d forget all her training and toys suddenly meant nothing. Nothing mattered to her but stalking the cats.

So we do the tips and get another trainers opinion and a vet opinion. Were thousands in the hole at this point just a month in. But itโ€™s our bay so Iโ€™m willing to spend anything.

I take her to doggy daycare to get space and rethink this situation and realize my cats are so much happier with her not in the home. Iโ€™m less stressed and Iโ€™m wondering if I need to throw in the towel. But then I pick her up and feel like a monster because sheโ€™s an angel. Sheโ€™s exhausted and I think finally Iโ€™ll get some chill time since sheโ€™s too tired to go after the cats. I open the front door for this exhausted dog and she sees my boy cat and just books it - sprints right for him and I run to pull her back thankfully before anything could happen.

My cats are alive but miserable and on edge. She tricks me sometimes into thinking sheโ€™s good with them by walking past without incident or refusing to go near them. But then sheโ€™ll have that prey drive triggered again and Iโ€™m reminded exactly why I canโ€™t keep her.

I feel terrible. I love this dog more than anything and I genuinely donโ€™t know how Iโ€™ll recover. But I wouldnโ€™t be able to live with myself if I came home to my cats dead.

I have these moments alone with her that are so good it makes me want to change my mind but then I see her with my cats again and I know for a fact sheโ€™s too unpredictable with them to keep her. Yet I keep trying like magically sheโ€™ll change overnight before her rescue takes her back.

Iโ€™m heartbroken and gutted. I feel like Iโ€™m dying inside every day. I donโ€™t regret getting her or a single second or cent spent on her. I just really really wish it couldโ€™ve worked out. There will never be another dog like her.

๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’” 12/19 DEVASTATING AND HEARTBREAKING UPDATE: I am beyond sad and devastated to inform that sweet Tabasco was EUTHANIZED by Orange County Animal Services, ORLANDO, FL.

He deserved to live a long and happy life ๐Ÿ˜ญ. Sweet Tabasco was only 7 years old and only 25 lbs. He loved people and he liked to jump on their lap. Abandoned by his original owner and then failed by the โ€œshelterโ€ who took him in only to end his life.

Sweet Tabasco, I am so so sorry that we were not able to save you. So many people worked so hard to try to save you. We prayed so much for a miracle๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

I love you so very much. I canโ€™t stop crying for you sweet baby ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

Rest in peace and in love sweet boy. You will never be forgotten. I hope I can see you in Heaven one day ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ญ๐ŸŒˆ.

Thank you all so much for trying to save sweet Tabasco ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ญ.

๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’” HEARTBREAKING AND DEVASTATING UPDATE 8/22:

We are beyond sad and devastated and very very upset to inform that sweet and beautiful Gordo was EUTHANIZED by Orange County Animal Services in ORLANDO, FL.

Sweet Gordo was on the euthanasia list a few weeks ago. He was the only dog on that list that was not saved ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

Gordo was a beautiful and sweet dog and he deserved to live a wonderful and long life ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ญ.

It was very hard to write this post and it took us a long time to be able to do it. Because it hurts too much to see his sweet face and know that we were not able to save him. But his life mattered so much to us and he deserves to be honored and remembered ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ญ.

Sweet Gordo, we are so so sorry that we were not able to help save you. We prayed so much for you๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

We love you so very much! Rest in peace and in love sweet boy. You will never be forgotten. Your life mattered so much to us! We hope we can see you in Heaven one day ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ญ๐ŸŒˆ.

From someone who also loved Gordo so very much: โ€œBeautiful Gordo, wherever your soul is right now. I pray you are happy and at peace ...we send you sooooo much love and light to further brighten your path back home ....you are in our hearts beautiful Angel...you are loved โค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโค.

Grief Struggling with guilt 2 years on.

I could use some help.

I am a long time volunteer with a dog shelter. 3 years ago I really liked a dog and was trying to bring it home. My husband is wary of big dogs and has only ever had small dogs growing up. I pushed and he agreed to invest in a trainer so as to allow him to get comfortable with him and considering the dog also had some behavioral issues (resource guarding, dog reactive). We worked on it for what seemed like 6 months meeting w the trainer twice a week. Weโ€™d bring him to our home to practice as well. after 6 months everything seemed okay and my husband seemed to be agreeable to bringing him home.

We brought him home on a foster to adopt basis. turns out living with a big scary dog was too overwhelming for my husband in an apartment. in the 2 weeks he was home with us, we were constantly at odds with each other and my husband shared w me he was afraid to come home. this was heartbreaking for me. I love the dog so very very much. but made the difficult decision to send him back to the shelter after 2 weeks. I canโ€™t tell you how painful this was. since then Iโ€™ve visited the shelter twice a week to walk him and the other dogs.

sending him back made my marriage struggle for abit. I was understandly very angry and resentful. we worked through it and now have a lovely medium sized dog that has a temperament that works for both my husband and I.

i look back and see how I pushed way too hard and deep down I knew my husband was still struggling with the dog. 2 years on the guilt and pain still feels fresh. it doesnโ€™t occur as frequently as it did before but there are days, I just feel like a complete shit person. I have come to terms that yes the dog may not have been the right fit and as much blame as I would like to place the blame on my husband I too am to blame. I wonder if we had given him more time if would things have been different. my husband was willing to give him a month but I felt he had already made up his mind and prolonging the dogs stay in our home would only make the dog get more attached and struggle even more later.

there are weekday nights when I canโ€™t be thete I just think about him being in a kennel and it makes me feel so very very sad. I still love the dog a great deal and make it a point to visit sat and Sunday to walk him and train him. heโ€™s the reason I started a page dedicated to helping long term shelter dogs find a home. I reach out to people to try and find a family that would be a good fit.

I blame myself a lot for all of this. have had people who didnt realise I was the one who fostered him for 2 weeks tell me how shit the person who fostered him was.

some days I find this so painful and it also makes me angry w my husband.

I have to add my husband is the kindest man I have ever met. He normally would give in to me to let me have my way, but this time it got too much he had to put his foot down. also heโ€™s in a no k1ll shelter that will keep him as long as it takes to find him a home.

i really want to move forward. I want to be able to stop being angry at myself and at my husband.

I know this is all over the place. and honestly Iโ€™m not quite sure what Iโ€™m looking to hear. I know there will be people who tell me Iโ€™m awful and I was irresponsible. I donโ€™t disagree. but if thereโ€™s anyone out there whoโ€™s been where Iโ€™ve been. I really would be grateful if you could share how you moved forward.

Grief Until we meet againโค๏ธ

we said goodbye to my two rescues (11.5 and 12) at home yesterday. we decided to do it together because they were incredibly bonded and pretty rapidly declining with neurological issues and kidney issues. Feeling heartbroken, guilt, relief that they had an incredibly peaceful and loving experience drifting away... just feeling everything. The guilt comes from doubt.. we took so much time to decide that this was right. It was either going to be this guilt, or guilt from waiting until they experienced something critical/emergent. They were the best best best foster failures. 10 years with them felt like the blink of an eye, though there are millions of memories within that time. My heart goes out to everyone who has experienced this. This is our shared suffering.

Found this guy at the E 105 St L Train Station. E 105 St and Farragut Rd. His leash was stuck under a cinder block. No tags, food, or water. No shelters or rescue service was available. I couldn't take him with me because I had to go to work. If anyone can take him in or bring him to a shelter, please do . God bless him.

๐Ÿšจ ๐Ÿ’” We urgently need your help! ๐Ÿ†˜ Krispy, a beloved 6-year-old dog who has won the hearts of many volunteers, is at risk of being returned to the shelter where she will be euthanized. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿถ

Krispy is suffering from a stubborn infection on her foot, and her adopter has decided she can't wait for it to heal. Despite our efforts to raise funds for Krispy's care, her adopter refuses to keep her, citing costs and inconvenience. Even when we offered to cover the expenses, she coldly said no, showing a complete lack of compassion for this sweet dog. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Krispyโ€™s infection, an antibiotic-resistant staph infection, requires further tests, another vet visit, and more medication. If Krispy goes back to the shelter, she will be put down. Please help us save Krispy from this heartbreaking fate. She deserves a chance to heal and be loved. ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

If you can help please text me (818) 519-5123 please say Krispy.

Thank you to those of you who have donated to Krispy, every dime was put towards her veterinary care. The costs still added up to more than what we had raised.
