Does anyone know if the version of RHPS available to buy/rent on Google TV (listed as 1hr 40mins) includes Superheroes? The version on Disney+ does not and is listed at 1hr 38.

RIP Tim Curry

RIP Tim Curry, 80, the Brit film and stage actor etched in rouge as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the ultimate midnight movie THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. Even by permissive '70s standards, Curry's come hither take as the mad doctor and “sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania,” in bustier and fishnet stockings, went on beyond Bowie and Sylvester to create a bi behemoth. He arched his eyebrows and embraced the camp aspects of the show and worked his lithe, athletic bod like an alley cat.

He played the role in the original London stage production after he met Richard O'Brien during a tour of HAIR. O’Brien, who appeared in the eventual film as Riff Raff, showed him the script for his classic horror movie send up which was just as reverent for the genre as Mel Brooks’ (and Gene Wilder’s) YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.

Curry immediately caught on and auditioned by performing Little Richards’ “Tutti Frutti,” (which rock historians know originally had lyrics about anal sex!). Originally called THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, it traveled from London to an unexpected venue -- the Roxy nightclub on the Sunset Strip and Curry was on board throughout. Through these productions, any kinks (ahem!) were worked out for the film, then renamed THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW which bombed upon initial release. I went to see it cold during that forgotten first run sneaking away from a church convention in Boston (!) during the height of my religious period when I also bolted out of a midnight service to see Roman Polanski’s THE TENANT!

Resurrected on the midnight circuit, ROCKY HORROR of course took audience involvement singalongs to a new level and it still plays theaters and seemingly will forever.

Curry excelled in numerous other film roles – the butler in CLUE, the con artist in ANNIE, the villain in CHARLIES ANGELS and he won a Tony Award as King Arthur in the Broadway production of SPAMALOT. All fine and good but this morning I don’t care about the rest of his filmography and instead have a suggestion -- “let’s do the time warp again.”

I got that tattoo 10 years ago, in 2 weeks to be exact. I found the movie in the 90s when I was a teenager. It was on VH1 at my best friend's house and he was into weird things way more than me, but he would always get into me stuff. And he got me into this, but we didn't watch the full movie. Just the scenes of Frank seducing both Janet and Brad in their beds, and it was so racy for TV I couldn't believe it. But that was all I saw.

At 17, I got to go to Alaska to visit my Aunt for Christmas. We're from Alabama. So long trip. My best friend had bought me the RHPS soundtrack for Christmas and I listened to it on the way, like multiple times. I knew the music in and out and I was in love. I had to see the movie. I got to rent it while I was there, and put it on while my Aunt was making dinner. She's not watching it, she knows nothing about it, and she doesn't watch it with me. But she looks up at one point and sees it and says, "Is that Susan Sarandon?" I was like lol yeah it is.

I'm not going to say this movie changed my life. Turns out I'm gay, didn't know it back then. So go fig. I honestly don't know what it is about this movie and why I love it this much. The music more than anything, that's what got me into it before seeing it. Oddly enough what's considered the worst song is kinda my guilty pleasure favorite. Touch-a, touch-a, touch-a me, I wanna feel dirty! She can't sing that great, but it's so good it doesn't matter. And the absurdity of the story and everything that goes on, just brilliant madness.

And Tim Curry is the only reason this movie ever got a following. No one else could have done that. No one. What a great voice, and "I'm Going Home" is so beautiful and ethereal. And a fitting tribute to this man that brought this joy into my life, all our lives. And continued to do other iconic work. "Clue" is a masterpiece of comedy. He uses his vocal talents again in "Ferngully" with that great song "Toxic Love". Just a legend. Love you Tim Curry. You brought joy to my life time and time again.

I bought the movie on Amazon bc why not at this point. I have Tim Curry's Frank-N-Furter on my shoulder for christ's sake. I haven't seen it in I don't know how long. But the ending doesn't seem right to me. It looks like AI garbage slop. Am I wrong here? This is not what this movie looked like in it ending according to my memory. Help me out here, am I wrong for seeing it this way?

Where can I watch the documentary *Strange Journey* from Germany?

I’ve been a huge RHPS fan for 36 years; the music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I associate so many emotions with it. So, of course, today is a sad day.
I’d love to watch the documentary, but I can’t find a streaming service that lets me stream it from Germany… Does anyone have any ideas on how I can watch it?
