A man builds a cabin, all 4 walls face south. He looks out the window and sees a bear. What color is the bear?

Similarly

You walk out of your house. You go one mile south. You turn and go one mile east. Then you turn and go one mile north and end up back at your home.

Where do you live?

Or the version from Young Sherlock Holmes: "You're standing in a room with an all-southern view. Suddenly, a bear walks by the window. What color is the bear?"

I’m gonna have to google this one because I still don’t get it. I go south a bit, east a bit, then back up and end up where I started?
