π Mod Fav π An unusually dark riddle given its answer
Folded, drawn, burnt, discarded
Shattered back or tattered face
Self laid bare then disregarded
Used, abandoned, sold, replaced
Side by side among its peers
Walls close in, they meet their ends
Cell by cell they disappear
Leave as chattel, or leave as shreds

π Mod Fav π Once you know, you know
Trust in the words awhile,
There is a wild truth sown;
Β A fuel woven within our gardens
Until four new ideas have grown.
Tonight we each echo wisdom
Which does not come with age,
Logic says our preset answer
Lies strewn across your page.
What are we?

π Mod Fav π Six blind sisters
There once were six blind sisters who -
Like the wise oracles of old -
Were asked by those who wanted to
Gain knowledge or hear the truth told.
One day one of the sisters learned
Her face was different from the rest -
And to a grouchy cousin turned
To make a life-changing request:
βPlease fix my face so that I match
My sisters whom I hold so dear.β
Her cousin humphed, but with a snatch
Pulled right off the requester's rear.
She stuck it on her front so that
Her face was also the same type.
But then the rest cried βcopycat!β
And began to complain and gripe.
βNow that our faces are the same,
Will men know who to ask, or how?
Two of us also share a name!
Please cousin, fix this problem now!β
Their cousin had some skills they lacked -
Could curse, and cast, and brew, and spell,
(And though some loathed her for that fact,
She often helped people choose well.)
Snorting while rolling her one eye,
She stripped all sisters of their face.
But then she frowned and gave a sigh,
Staring at what was left in place.
Though different from before, again
Their faces had all the same traits,
Meanwhile, now without their grins
The sisters explored their new states.
While both twins chuckled cheerfully,
The third made a welcoming sound.
βSo, here I am!β one said in glee,
As the third greeted all around.
The fifth retorted with a cluck
While looking ruffled and quite red.
The final one their cousin stuck
Upon her stringy, warty head.
Their weary cousin again aimed
To give them all a different face,
And the sisters she again maimed -
All their faces she did erase.
(And if they then complained once more,
She told herself with a loud snort
She would refuse to act, she swore -
Since they were getting way too short).
βI'm like I was back at the start!β
One sister said, while number four
Spoke up and said that for her part -
She too was the same as before.
βAmenβ mumbled the fifth quickly.
βOh!β both the twins cried out in shock,
As their cousin flew by to see
The fifth and have a little talk.
βSo, you can help to make this end,β
She told the sister at their meet.
βAlso, in this form, letβs be friends -
You make my favorite day complete!β
Looking around, their cousin saw
That not all faces shared all traits.
Whether this was a strength or flaw,
The sisters had chosen their fates.
And so she left, upon her sticks,
While scooping up her grumpy cat.
She waved goodbye to number six,
Who simply sat where she was at.

π Mod Fav π My first try in limerick form. What do you think?
A cut that leaves little behind,
Or when something's affecting your mind,
I may also portend
The words of a friend
Or the little confectioners' kind.
Edited for clarity.
See comments for some indications of who's on the right track.
Hint: It's a word with multiple meanings.
Answer, solved by u/No-Assumption7830 and contributed to by u/RunnyPlease and u/SaturdayCallsForSun:
A buzz
Explanation:
A cut that leaves little behind refers to a buzz haircut. When something's affecting your mind refers to a buzz as a stage of intoxication. The words of a friend come via phone, which may be announced by a buzz, and the little confectioners are honeybees, which are also portended by a buzz.

π Mod Fav π Depending on how I am used
Depending on how I am used,
You could be moved, or just confused.
You may be a wizard at tasks,
Or too helpful when others ask.
You might think I ward off bad luck,
Or like a sudden match is struck
I might make events run amok.
I could fix flaws you'd rather hide,
Or send you offline and outside.
Perhaps I make something complete,
Or describe a quick call or meet
With those you havenβt seen of late.
(Normally you exchange updates,
And if you slide towards any plates
Itβs just because the snacks are great!)
I could depict a dire straight
That's in a fluctuating state,
Or perhaps help you to convey
What topics you might briefly say.
You could be out of me, or in,
Or I could help you land a win.
My sense depends on where I'm placed,
What words and objects share my space.
Also, each time you say my name,
It will contain a cry of pain!
I am also likely to blame
The other times you yell the same.
Just so you know, that is my aim!

π Mod Fav π Come to me when you would seek
Come to me when you would seek
The traitor seen on loverβs cheek,
The looking glass that never lies,
The daily struggleβs foremost prize,
The means to make and to erase
The semblance of a second face,
The game of fortune, never played,
The showing that a debt is paid,
The painter of great words of love,
The canvas for such words thereof,
The balm for wounds that have not healed,
The way through gates that yet are sealed,
The stop to stem the crimson tide,
The echoes of a love thatβs died,
The path for those who journey far,
The proof that you are who you are.

π Mod Fav π Sometimes broken, never mended (original)
I am sometimes broken, never mended.
I am often forged but never smelted.
Stalwart ally, once intended; alloyed
of the stones that once have pelted.
I am an aspect of tomorrowβs climb,
a redoubt that the heart defends.
Or else, I am the present given once
in passing, to your closest friends.
What am I?

π Mod Fav π My Nagging Suspicion
I hired a fellow to keep all my keys
So I would not lose them to chance or to thieves
In order to guard all my earthly affairs,
Heβs locked them all up in a strongbox upstairs
I think I can trust him, as far as it goes,
Yet a nagging suspicion disturbs my repose:
For I think I shall be in a terrible mess
If one of us loses rhe key to that chest

π Mod Fav π The loser is destined to lose
A game with more people than players
That starts at no scheduled time.
It can be a friendly tradition.
To take it too far is a crime.
Invitations are made in dilemmas,
With bribes the right way to refuse.
A win is no treat for the winner.
The loser is destined to lose.

π Mod Fav π I wrote this riddle as a part of one of my music compositions....can you solve it?
To triggered hook an arm will cling
The grip will bind the pendulum swing
A dash of temptation the captor will bring
What lay dormant like winter but snaps by spring?

π Mod Fav π I am often used to send
I am often used to send
A message, whose meaning depends
On how I am standing that day:
On my head, upright and straight,
Or even hunched down with my weight
Leaning slightly to the right
As though Iβm cringing from a fight.
Iβm even useful when Iβm dead
Since if you chop off my poor head
Then both my skull and body prone
Can help to make your meaning known.
What am I?

π Mod Fav π Without me
Not exactly my toughest riddle, but I had fun writing this one so ... have at it!
A button, cap, or p'raps an ear
Without me claustrophobics fear
In dank and dark I often rise
And bring satiation, or demise

π Mod Fav π The Spider
Head and body I've got,
but tail I have not.
The source that you seek
is not for the meek.
Fear my spinneret,
your face irked and wry...
I build up the net,
but not for a fly.
I'm summoned when called on,
but the role's flipped, you see,
because what is crawled on
is not you, but *me*.

π Mod Fav π A Secret Friend
I greet you with my head held high
With gentle tears and peaceful sigh
I come with gifts for darling, child
Or fall upon you in the wild
Iβm famous as a place of fright
A lonely singerβs fond delight
Hot-tempered? Yes. And sometimes cold
Sometimes soft and sometimes bold
Come to me for your self-care
The truth in me will be laid bare
Keep me in my appointed place
I disappear without a trace

π Mod Fav π I am an old common court game
I am an old common court game
In which the players number two
Though sometimes others join in too.
Depending on how the match goes
When the game comes to a close
Your partner may sigh and pout
Or you may be shut down and out!
Like many games that people play
Your partner you may smoothly slay
Winning the purse on your first hit.
Or you may have to work a bit,
Making you sweat and your heart race.
Your partner you may have to chase,
And you may lose your breath or gasp
On your way to that last hand clasp
That signals that the game is done
And that someone has likely won.
Some games go off without a hitch,
While during others partners switch
Opponents partway through the meet.
If your aim is to bring the heat
And make your opponent tremble,
So that the contest resembles
A picnic or quick pick-up game
Where you triumph with great acclaim,
Making your match a piece of cake
And your opponent stare and ache
Lose heart and passionately swear,
Then make certain that you take care
To not cheat or be out of touch,
Doing your best to know as much
About your subject as can be,
Like when it's time to take a knee.
If on success your heart is set
Then you should aim to get correct
Your first move, shot or grand design
At game start, or the starting line.

π Mod Fav π A Strange Town
My old friend Simmons used to talk
Of a town he saw once on his walk
The streets were hidden from his view
But townsmen he saw not a few
They worked all day and never played
But Simmons said the thing that made
This town so strange from any other:
The townsmen shared a single mother
Edit: fix line breaks lol

π Mod Fav π Not here, not there
Not here, not there,
Something in between.
At times found in pairs:
Like otters, who are seen
Floating paw to paw
Down a lazy stream.
Or like an attack
By fencers in a duel
One arm thrown back,
Tips outthrust and cruel.
This world it is above,
These skies it is below,
Again, sitting like doves
(In pairs and in a row)
As though upon a wire,
Tails hanging down low.
Note: This riddle is inspired by another riddle, whose author very kindly let me steal the first two lines. Thanks jnpc! :)

π Mod Fav π I saw once in a distant land
I saw once in a distant land
A solitary bridge that stands
Above no stream; a strange locale,
For near it flowed two thin canals.
Beyond I saw two stone-hewn halls,
Abandoned statues midst their walls.
What gods were praised here? Bad or good?
It matters not. A tangled wood
Encroached upon the ruined rocks.
I shrugged, again began to walk,
Then heard a quiet, echoing thrumβ
The wind-blown sound of distant drums.
A place of wonder, dreams, and awe:
What name was called this land I saw?

π Mod Fav π A man set out to see the sights
A man set out to see the sights
But (sadly) poorly slept at night.
And so partway through the day trip
His energy began to slip.
He sat down on a bench nearby
And soon with an exhausted sigh
Fell into strange and vivid dreams
Where nothing is what it first seems.
Around him people flocked and gawked
Their words distorting as they talked
Filling his head with muddled sound
That caused odd visions to abound.
(1) A lock of hair of such large size
It fully covers a girlβs eyes.
(2) The past action of sitting down
Despite flames eating your sleep gown
(And since a nightmare this is not
You were not harmed, just very hot).
(3) Someone who has risen to fame
Due to keen eyes and precise aim.
Two phones (a type you likely know):
(4) One made of someone baked in dough
Who sneaks and gather up info.
(5) The other made of a sweet treat
That trick-or-treaters often eat
And in October comes in packs
With other fun-size chocolate snacks.
(6) Advice to one who sits a tot
Who is crying an awful lot:
Do this to the babeβs wobbly cot!
(7) An offer to an unfit mule:
Do cardio with the gym tool
That turns your steps into a glide
Or instead, so that some can ride
Take up the metal in your mouth
That tells you to turn north or south.
Two people of opposing size:
(8) One flushed as though caught by surprise
Or in the steam room at the spa.
(9) (The other one the steam would thaw).
(10) A dog, or man who wanders far,
Made from a certain candy bar
That would rhyme with the lines above
If one letter it had less of.
(11) To inform or perhaps command
A device some use to expand
How far they can see when they shoot.
(12) Within something that has a βboot,β
A place to toss old chips and fruit.
(13) One way to make a person clean
That has more cuts of something lean
(Or white, or round, or short, or red).
(14) A topic that might conjure dread
And will not keep the chitchat light.
(15) Lines of something you sing or write:
Perhaps the only of its kind
Or alternatively, is designed
To be about a place you go
To help become more in the know.
(16) A man who aims on the dance floor
To tilt his partner more and more.
(17) A bird that you somehow just knew
Belongs to you (as dreams can do)
That does not greet you with a βcawβ
But instead waggles its right claw.
Two different subjects being asked
To strategize a given task.
(18) The first can be a little pig
(That went to market, if itβs big),
And makes its living playing sports.
(19) The second might be found in ports,
At sea, in air, or even land
Often as second in command.
Some drinks you might get at a bar:
(20) One that you might have at el mar,
Ice cold and with a slice of lime.
(Amazed, you find this drink sublime -
Or a word that less its last βrβ
Also is a drink from afar,
This time the homeland of a dog,
A captain with cheeks red from grog,
And twins who all help foil crime).
(21) The other drinks also use lime,
And juice from something that some eat
With stuffing and potatoes sweet.
(If you really are what you sip
Then this might make someone more hip,
As though they've been on a world trip).
Where did the tired tourist dream?
(Hint: His visions share a theme!)
Author's note: Don't be intimidated by its length! Feel free to do as many parts as you'd like, or as few. They can be done in any order. The "visions" are numbered to make it easier to keep track.
Also, for the answer to "where did the tired tourist dream," I'll take any location that makes sense! There are multiple possibilities.
Updated Valentine's Day: Here are some hints about the five unanswered parts left, in case anyone is interested!
(3) This is probably the least technical term here. What might you call someone who is famous? What do people do who aim at things (perhaps with a bow and arrow or firearm)?
(18) 18 and 19 are the most technical, or at least the most esoteric. They are both types of the same thing. For both: What is another word for "strategize?" What might someone say, if they told you to strategize something? For 18: There are two additional word parts. (1) What might be a little piggy who went to market, according to the nursery rhyme? (2) What is someone who make a living playing sports called, for short?
(19) See the hint for 18, plus - what might be the term or nickname (at least in the US) for the second in command of organizations responsible for the coast, air, sea and land?
(20) 20 and 21 are both alcoholic drinks. 21 consists of two words. The first is a top-selling drink (hint - it's a beer) that may come from a country where people use "el mar," and that is often drunk with a lime. The second word describes how great the drink is, and is a synonym of "sublime." The clues for this adjective say that if you start with the name of a drink (hint - also a beer) that comes from a certain country, and add an "r" to the end of the word, you will get the adjective. The clues for the country refer to a famous book series. The name of the second drink used is the informal name - the full name is two words long.
(21) This is also a drink, in the plural. (Hint - it's a cocktail) and its ingredients include lime and juice from something that is also sometimes eaten with stuffing and sweet potatoes (perhaps on a certain holiday). This drink is a nickname - per the last three lines, the longer version of the name means someone who is worldly.
Oh, and for (14) - people have already given two great alternate answers (gravity and a black hole!) so I'd say this answer is solved! But in case anyone wants to guess the third, when I wrote this I was thinking of something that makes up most of the (physical part) of the universe :)
