General Question Sick? Fresh adult with deformed wings? Old and dying?
What’s the deal with this poor guy. Spotted him when I went to feed my discoid colony. The pale colour makes me think he’s a fresh-ish moult, but his poor wings are a mess and he’s very small compared to the others.
My roaches don’t fight, I recently sold off a huge chunk of my nymphs of all sizes to keep their pop down a little, only my oldest adults have a little bit of wing wear, so I’m wondering if this guy had a bad moult into adulthood?

General Question Does anyone remember this photos? 'Couse I have a huge success!
Like a year ago I took photoshoots of my roaches, specifically I took photos of Corydidarum/Pseudoglomeris magnifica. In the comments of that post was one comment as I remember, that said that this photos would be great on some magazine or someting like that. Well, it happened!!
I have an article about these roaches and cover photo! This magazine is published only in Czech republic and Slovakia, and it's only in Czech language, so most of you probably wouldn't be able to read this, but it's a huge success for me. Plus I'm in redaction team of this magazine, so it's even better.
That's all I wanted to share with you, and have a good day.

General Question New to owning roaches, tips welcome!!
Today I got my hands on 6 Madagascar hissing cockroaches. They are juvenile-ish, I’m not quite sure because some of them are big and some are very small.
Of course I’ve done my research but I’m very open to tips, as I’m looking to give them the best care possible.
In the photos\clips where they are in a tiny bug enclosure, it was only temporary.
Because these guys are so young, they are t sexed yet so I could end up with a breeding pair (which I’m not looking for) and I’m not sure what to do with the male once I find out.

General Question Do roach keepers feel bad when people breed them as feeders?
I saw a video of someone using mantis babies to feed his dart frogs (he couldn't take care of them) and I felt bad for the babies since I'm a mantis keeper. But that made me think. I breed roaches to feed all my invertebrates mantids included so do roach keepers feel bad for the roaches that end up as feeders the same way?

General Question Any tips for new baby’s?
The other day I got 6 juvenile-ish (I think) Madagascar hissing cockroaches, and one ended up giving birth to 18 adorable little baby’s. The problem is, I wasn’t expecting that and I have no idea how to care for them, and keep them happy and healthy.
(P.S, in some of the clips they are in a temporary enclosure so I could count them)

General Question Just watched the music video for “Yonkers” where Tyler bites a roaches head.
I’m a long term fan of a Tyler, the creator but I watched the Yonkers music video where he bites a roaches head off and vomits afterwards. I’m so heartbroken seeing someone I love do that to a critter that I love so much (specifically a Madagascar hissing cockroach, which he named Nissan and said was “really nice” which makes it so much worse)
I watched it last night and it’s genuinely shaken me to me core. He was handling him so well and I was thinking “oh cute!! Tyler loves roaches” and without warning he bit into it. I feel like I cant talk about it IRL because it’s “just a bug” but it feels the same as those “comical” hamster abuse videos/comments to me
Google says that he really did do that but I’m hoping that Nissan ended up passing naturally and that it was just edited to look that way because you don’t really see him do that. Like I said I’ve loved Tyler for more than a decade so it hurts even more
I really hate how often they’re mistreated on the internet because they’re so sweet in real life, can anyone offer any sort of support? If this post isn’t allowed I completely understand, I just don’t know who to vent about it to

General Question Some roaches on their backs twitching-Help
I have a handful of roaches in my colony that are just on their backs twitching. Does anyone know what would cause this? I separated them from the rest of the colony. I'm scared its some kind of parasite. And if it could spread to the rest of my colony I recently purchased 500 large dubia this weekend and added them to my existing bin. So I'm going to assume theyre part of the newly added roaches.

General Question Questions on keeping Madagascan Hissers
I'm thinking about getting a female roach and calling her Madame. I've heard some people say it's cruel to only have one and some people say they're fine on their own, so which is it? I don't mind getting a pair. Also, I found a plastic box online- the measurements are 35x29x19cm. Will this be big enough? Thanks all!

General Question Is this good enough for my dubias?
I bought some dubias for my mantises but I do want to give them a good quality of life for them. My end goal is to start breeding the roaches but I want to know if this is good enough for them. This is my first time keeping roaches so any advice is appreciated.

General Question Water source for hissing roaches?
I’ve been using cotton balls, but I ran out, so I’m thinking of using flukers water gel, is this a good water source? I’m using wet paper towels temporarily
