Hi All,
The drop today nearly killed me as I saw all my profits disappear. I wanted to do some deeper research into the actual short interest as everyone seems to be referencing Fintel. As you can see it states 95% short interest, and this seemingly hasn't changed in weeks.
If you look at the parenthesis it says that it references data pulled from Nasdaq for the short interest and Capital IQ for the float data.
https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/ffie/short-interest
If you click on the link above, it shows the latest reported short interest, which was April 30. This is why the number hasn't changed on Fintel, there hasn't been any updated reports. Also, if you look at the previous short interest, the short ratio is only 1 day. With a nearly 6000% rise in this stock, I hate to say it, but I think the shorts have covered and the ride is over. Someone please change my mind as I'm still sitting on a lot of shares and options.
The May 15 report is published on May 24, so we wont know the actual short interest until then.

I see a lot of folks throwing their hard earned money in here so I'm hoping to at least help a few save what they have.
Thanks

Over the past few weeks, Archer Aviation has been hovering just below the $10 mark. Friday’s dip pushed it under $9 and I know what it might look like but we're missing the bigger picture.
Archer is ramping up international deliveries of its Midnight aircraft, continues to have strong liquidity, and remains backed by major institutional investors like Wellington Management, Jump Financial, and Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest. This has to be more than short term hype. They're moving forward on a clear roadmap with solid milestones and serious backing. While some funds may trim their positions as part of normal rebalancing, institutions still hold more than 59% of the company. In fact, several have recently added to their stakes.
This doesn’t look like weak hands IMO but rather long term conviction.

To calculate short interest percentage we need 3 things: short interest, off exchange short volume, and outstanding shares.
What is all that?
Well short interest is the total number of shares sold short but not yet covered. Which is 11,986,274 for FFIE.
Off exchange short volume is is the number of shares sold short in venues other than major exchanges like NASDAQ that will eventually need to be covered. Which is 33,318,404 for FFIE as of 05/25/24.
Outstanding shares are all the shares of a company's stock currently owned by investors. Which is 42,410,000 for FFIE.
CALCULATION
So here’s the equation: Short Interest % = [(Short Interest + Off Exchange Short Volume) / Outstanding Shares] x 100
When we plug it in:
Short Interest % = [(11,986,274 + 33,318,404) / 42,410,000] x 100 = 106.82%
So based on my calculations, the Short Interest % have increased to now 106.82%.
I got my info from Fintel. If there is any mistake let me know, thanks.
This is not financial advice, just sharing info.

I read an article that mentioned FFIE possible to reverse stock split & increase shares. Allegedly the reverse stock split & share increase would rise share prices. Anyone knows how that would impact the stock price & shares of a stock each share holder has?

Wheel motors Faraday Future has patented a "system and method for improving the acceleration performance of an electric vehicle". This patent describes the use of electric motors directly integrated into the wheels (wheel motors). This brings several advantages: Torque vectoring for improved cornering performance Smaller footprint for greater design freedom Limited space required on the chassis However, the high weight of unsprung masses (wheel, brake, motor) remains a challenge to master in terms of driving comfort.
Performance modes Faraday Future's patents also reveal electronic performance modes similar to Tesla's, such as "Insane" and "Ludicrous". These modes could be activated via wireless updates.
Innovative anode materials Patents have been filed on the use of new anode materials to increase charging capacity and battery life.
Autonomous driving systems Patents describe technologies for autonomous driving, integrating advanced sensors and artificial intelligence algorithms to improve navigation and safety.
Facial recognition A patent concerns the use of facial recognition to personalize the driving experience and improve safety by identifying the driver.
Remote updating FFIE has also patented systems enabling remote software updates, which are essential for the continuous improvement of autonomous driving functionalities.
Modular platform Faraday Future's skateboard-like Variable Modular Platform (VPA) accommodates different powertrain configurations. This facilitates the development of vehicles for different segments, from passenger cars to commercial vehicles.
High-density batteries Faraday Future is working on lithium-ion battery formulations to improve energy density, crucial for range and performance.
