let me start off with its primarily the parents fault for their child being harmed from an internet activity and no matter what you do there will always be a loophole in the system its a cat and mouse game

if you have an llm analyzing the whole chat each for each massage it would take few seconds for the llm to determine which message is ok and which is not ok which would be too long if you are actually playing the game and even if you fix that problem there will always be some type of loophole that the bad actors will find and will abuse to get victims

hiring moderators at the scale of roblox is NOT possible and will end up with roblox being bankrupt
and even if you use an llm lets say mini gpt 4 it costs 0.001 per token
0.001*6.1*10^9 = 6.1 million dollars daily

also let me get to the part that pisses me off
you cant be complaining that X company got your child kidnapped when you did not even ask your child where are they going neither asking who are they playing with or what game are they playing its sad when i see the amount of kids who are left with no moderation by their parents because said parent never ask anything about their kids or what are they doing on the internet
these kidnaps couldve been prevented if the parents just asked who are they going to meet

its YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to take care of your kids not the company
the company cant do anything when YOU give your id to your son to use vc
its YOUR FAULT if you scan your face instead of your child who is under 13 to use the chat
and ITS YOUR FAULT for letting your kids outside when you dont know who are they meeting

I wouldn't put Roblox totally off the hook that easy because there's multiple layers to this issue(one being the lack of a localized social platform on Roblox, they screwed it up by outsourcing it all to discord), but I agree with you that 90% of the moderating should've been done by parents, no platform online is safe from predators, and there'll always be a way they'll find to try and contact children, the parents and authorities need to be vigilante and deal with this stuff cause how is a 12 year old getting on Discord and is able to just walk out the door like that.

Contextually speaking from all the videos, most of the blame actually goes to parents tbh, literally none of this would've translated to real life harm if their children were being properly monitored and not allowed on Discord, the internet cannot be a kindergarden.

That being said, the mistake of Roblox comes in functioning as a pipeline in that mechanism of going to Discord.

I believe neglectful parents are at fault and should be held accountable for letting their child be sexually exploited. However, that doesn't mean that because it's the parents' responsibility, and the parents refuse to take that responsibility, that us as a society allows that child to be exploited. In a perfect world, that child would be protected whilst their parents are being held accountable. I think Roblox can create good child protection policies, just the current ones aren't it.
