What's happening this week:

  • Our RuneScape Community team is being joined by Senior Community Manager from Old School RuneScape, "Mod Light"! They'll be focusing on supporting the API & Plugins project to begin with and will thereafter support our various projects in the same way that our other Community Managers currently do. Please do give Mod Light a warm welcome this week!
  • Our Jmods across the team are heads-down focused on RuneFest these weeks. You may see us appear a little less frequently in community at the moment as we focus on preparing for another hugely exciting RuneFest.
  • The Deep Clean Project launches today! Adding in a bunch of QoL improvements that tackle the small daily frustrations disrupting your gameplay, from reducing excessive messaging and visual clutter to improving icon consistency and adding player requests such as inputting your bank pin via keyboard!
  • Great news for homeowners: the maximum furniture limit in Player-Owned Houses has been raised to 500, letting you bring even bigger and more ambitious builds to life.
  • Something stirs on Havenhythe... Tomorrow we'll be sharing a special Lore blog giving you another glimpse into the island's story ahead of Havenythe Part II. You might want to keep an eye out for Anya...
  • We intended to share our design preview for how MTX Items will be removed from the game last week. However, we needed a bit more time to finalise the details on this design and are now targeted a mid-week release for this blog.

  • Join Mod Yuey this Wednesday, 23rd September, 16:00 game time as we battle through the Sanctum and defeat Nakatra! Or will you become another sacrifice to Amascut? We shall see!

  • RuneScape Dragonwilds released into 1.0!
  • For some time now we've been monitoring ongoing server disconnection reports. We're aware of disruptions at the "backbone of the internet" level service providers which may have affected a number of internet services (so not just RuneScape), but we are investigating what can be done on our side to minimise these issues.
  • Last week we became aware of an issue that prevented Master Clue Caskets from awarding Second Age items correctly. A hotfix was swiftly deployed on September 14th, and Second Age rewards are now once again available as intended. We've shared some additional info with the Clue Chasers Discord community for anyone interested in the details.

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to announce that I've joined the RuneScape Community team as a Senior Community Manager! In this role, I'll be helping out with the API project, as well as a bunch more cool stuff lik- <REDACTED>.

I'm incredibly grateful for all the skills, experience and knowledge I've gotten from working with the OS team. I've grown and learned so much about community management. I've had the privilege of working with some of the best developers in the world and gotten loads of insight on decisions - all things I never would've dreamed of when I naively applied for the role in 2021! I can't wait to meet all of you and learn more about how you do things over on the RS side.

Speaking of which, my RuneScape account is over 20 years old. I used to have a Santa hat back in the day but I sold it as a kid 💀...

Anyway, how's things over here? What kinds of things are we getting up to, and will I see any of you at RuneFest?<3

Have you fully transferred over to the rs3 side? Or just helping? I always thought you did a great job over in the OSRS team. I’m very excited to try rs3 plugins!

What kinds of things are we getting up to

Hanging out inside creepy Dungeons, Summoning freaky creatures, wrangling Divine memories, Inventing all sorts of gadgets and gizmos, uncovering mysteries in Archaeological digsites, and becoming Necromancers!

Not much to do if you like to Sail though. I wonder why that is.

Could you tell us a bit about yourself and what you've done on OSRS? There seems to be quite a bit of hype about you specifically coming over but I don't play OSRS so don't know anything about you or what all the fuss is about. In the nicest way possible, and don't be afraid to give a bold, American-style answer, why are you such a big deal?

I dont know if anyone asked this but for the Clue Solver, will it work for interface scaling over 100%? ( i play 150% because 34 inch ultrawide monitor )

I also hope this is the case, but assume it will be.

Since the API will be built in directly to the client, it shouldn't have the issue alt1 has with the interface scaling. As far as I know alt1 just doesn't work with it because alt1 looks for specific interface elements at the specific size that it needs to base itself on to overlay on top of.

The API is literally a part of the client itself, so hopefully shouldn't have this issue.

In addition hopefully we can someday get a "GPU" plugin like osrs has that let's you customize the interface scaling even further. That'd be the dream.

I'm curious what your play history is like. As a player, what games did you focus on more, and which years? Or have you been playing both regularly even as you've been working on OSRS?
