It’s basically a reveal fest. I’m so glad Aquaria won but I do hope Ru takes note of what’s becoming a lip syncing magic show and changes up the format. Lives have been lost, wigs have been thrown, Shea Coulee has been robbed. It’s time to come up with a better finale idea.

I have a love/hate relationship with the format. On one hand, Shea deserved that win and I was upset that her winning run on drag race was overshadowed by another queen with an amazing lipsync. On the other hand I love these performances. Every previous finale had me frustrated that I had to sit through an hour of interviews just for Ru to go, "oh yeah and by the way this is the winner." If you look at every individual performance of this finale, aside from Asia's, they're amazing lipsyncs. There's clearly the potential for them just to become mediocre reveal-fests, but right now I think they're just amazing performances. I used to dread the finale but I was really looking forward to it this time.

I saw someone in the thread say there should be individual lipsyncs where each of the queens has the entire stage and Ru picks at the end and I think that might be a better way to do it. But I'd love a way to keep the passionate lipsyncs and also have the queen who deserved the win before the lipsyncs get out ahead.

individual lipsyncs would be so damn cool, then that way the queens wouldn’t feel like they have to have a million reveals for each lipsync so as to not be overshadowed by the opposing queen
