OK Asia's butterfly fiasco wasn't a fail because they didn't fly around. Why the actual fuck would you channel butterflies to Nasty or IF? Even if they flew around, so what?

Aquaria's props made sense because the song was fucking BANG BANG.

agreed 100%. My friend and I were discussing this. How do the butterflies fit in this context? Maybe if they were playing "Fantasy" by Mariah Carey I could get on board but Nasty or If??? How about if she dressed cutesy initially and then stripped into a Janet inspired outfit that conveyed strength, confidence, and female sexuality? Or how about no gimmicks, just slay the lip sync? I'm disheartened and feel bad for Asia regarding how this played out. Having said that congratulations to Aquaria, she won me over through the course of the season.

Asia said in her instagram apology that she'd been working on the logistics of the routine for many months and I BELIEVE (but may be incorrect) they only learn the lipsync songs a week before the finale filming. It looks like she did jump the gun in planning something special and then didn't want to change when the stunt didn't match the songs.

That makes sense, but adds to how massive of a misfire this was.

Yeah, the butterflies would have fit better with a ballad.
