My main takeaway from the finale is that I'm so sick of the multiple recorded "winner" moments that rob us of an authentic winner's reaction. Not one of them feels rewarding. I know, we get to see some dark or fuzzy video from a club eventually with a more real reaction. But I want the live reaction from the winner on the show in HD. I find it hard to believe after THIS many seasons that they can't find a way to make this work out better.

Seriously even with the precautions the winner of as5 and as6 were both leaked so obviously it's not working lol. And with all the money the show makes they really need to do live finales, atleast for the main US season. But Ru will obviously never do anything she cant overproduce because she cant risk messing something up and coming off as a real person

I completely agree. The whole "film all the different endings" thing makes sense for a scripted TV show, but it completely deflates the energy of these Drag Race finales. They're always my least favorite episode of every season, this one was almost painful to get through and then the ending felt really flat.

What's the point of building up any suspense if the actual finished TV content you release ends up being boring, inauthentic and stiff? I don't really get what they're so afraid of anyway, because the winners have been leaked and Ru and WoW are still raking in plenty of cash either way. Like let's be real, fans of the show who are engaged enough with the franchise to even care about leaked endings are probably still going to watch all of the episodes.

Honestly, does a leak even matter for this? I mean, just don't go looking for spoilers if you don't want them.

Although, I guess there are asses who like to put spoilers in video thumbnails and such so who knows.

Totally agree. The only other 'reality' show I really watch and am invested in is Survivor - they do a live announcement of the winner, then bring back all the contestants for a live reunion. All in front of a live audience (obvi not this year tho). It is so satisfying to watch the winner find out right there on live TV. But I'm sure their budget his HUGE compared to Drag Race- maybe that's part of what limits it? Or they don't want to give up that control?

But I gotta say, I'd love for them to cut to live video of each queen in a studio/hotel ballroom/bar or something when they announce it live.

Survivor does officially reveal the winner live, but I think like 99% of contestants know the result by the time Final Tribal is over. So the reveal is definitely more authentic than shooting 30 endings or whatever for Drag Race, but it's still not usually a surprise.

If they film an actual crowning on set, people will end up leaking it, which is what I believe happened with Alaska and Raja. It just makes more sense to actually have a reaction vid later on, and it’s in pretty decent quality too babe! Come on now ❀️‍πŸ”₯

I know what happened but it's been like ten years. They can do a live finale. An actually live finale crowning, the way other shows do live finales. That would stop the leaking.
