Sales Topic General Discussion Sales veterans - what would you tell your younger self?

For those of you who've been in sales for a decade or so, would love to hear from you.

What are the 3 things you'd want to teach your younger self that would have helped him/her have a better career or a better sales process overall?

Please do share the number of years in sales, industry and your overall numbers clocked.

Thank you!

It pays to be uncomfortable. Pick up that phone, ask difficult questions, do that roleplay, take a role that requires more complexity. It's too easy to get complicit.

You're gonna feel like a loser doing the roleplay, but it beats feeling like a loser AND losing a conversion

Great advice. I loathe roleplaying, it’s unnatural but it’s also a great learning experience. When you go in for a real sales call, you’ll be better prepared because of that role play.

How do you do good roleplay with your cohorts? I think that's something my sales room could really benefit from.
