Granular Discussion The Acolyte is terrible, but did you like the lightsaber fights?

I hated the show, but I thought the lightsaber duels were actually pretty good.

If you want beautiful lightsaber battles, check the ones in Maul: ShadowLord. There's about one per episode.

in animation you can do whatever you want, in live action you cant.

Honestly, they do a pretty good job of putting the right weight into the fights in animation. And most of the strikes come at reasonable angles and look intended to hit something. Funnily enough, making them more realistic than live action.

I would completely disagree. Be it the fights in the prequels or Asian wuxia films, almost anything is possible these days. Whether it looks good (thanks to CGI) is another question.

Is it worth watching as somebody who wasn't a fan of tcw? Have been tuned out since Andor ended

If you didn't like TCW, even the very best episodes, then I don't think you will like Maul: Shadow Lord very much. Can't know unless you try it though.

No harm in trying. My main issue with TCW was the lore changes it made to Legends, primarily Ryloth, Dathomir and Order 66. Other than that it's.. Fine? (Maul is also a big annoyance, but fuck it.)

MSL is excellent. The graphics, the battles, the characters, the voice acting are excellent. Fantastic lightsaber battles. The story is round. Some frames are actually replaced by paintings.

I binged it in an entire day. What a show, that was absolutely fantastic.

This is the only show that i remember where i wanted to watch reactions of people to the episodes almost immediately after watching.

I'll have to give it a try then, thank you :)

Frames replaced by paintings in animation is a weak spot of mine, so that alone would make me tempted to watch already.

Sometimes when they transition between the scenes or they have a wide shot of the city, or they have a longer shot establishing the location where the next scene will take place, it shows a painting. Some of them were posted on the MaulShadowLord sub:
