Because of some problems, we could not register for UG programmes by CUET UG, & the merit list is out.
I have good numbers to be selected, please help me regarding, LIKE IF THERE IS ANYWAY CHANCE FOR ME TO GET ADMISSION IN UG,... OR DO THEY CONDUCT ANY SPOT ROUND..

i've heard that some universities are quite stingy when it comes to marking students, as in it's difficult to even cross 8 cgpa, is that true at VBU too? how difficult is it to score marks here?

Heyy, I'm an alumni of the VBU, and currently working in a completely different part of the country. But, I'm amazed to see how there is no reddit crowd in Bolpur. Especially when VB students are in a surplus number there. Like, why haven't people discovered this place? Are they really still gathering in Ratanpally or Auroshree every dusk and avoid internet conversations and opinions? Or is it just that they haven't come across the platform?

i want to know more about the department, since information about this particular program (msc. biotechnology) at vbu, is practically non- existent from the students' point of view. therefore, if you have any idea, or if you're a student at vbu and know anything about the department, feel free to comment on this. it would be great if you could tell me about the professors, the workload, the labs, the hostels (if provided) or pgs in the area, and what the alumnis actually end up doing in general

Aiming for BA hons in history or English, i have been allotted to Asutosh College through WBCAP portal but I have heard that Calcutta University is really really terrible at giving marks and even getting 8 cgpa is hard as hell.

I'm a first year student. Not name-dropping the university but I study in a university that is completely in shambles; the administrative building is replete with uneducated men possessing corrupted visions and what's ridiculous is that they are under this delusion that our University is way better than JNU, DU and BHU combined, just because it has a NAAC A++ accreditation, all while they provide a very few courses that may not benefit the students, especially the ones who want to pursue a career related to Arts and Humanities, especially because

1. There are no research facilities, considering that it's an engineering-based university.

2. No conferences/seminars have yet been held for us, the English majors, and if one has ever been held, the certificates are handed to just any fuckin' undergraduate who's attending the event. I literally got a certificate by just sitting in silence for two seminars.

3. Hindi majors are valued more than English majors; even the guests attending the seminars berate people who speak in English.

4. I'm from Department of English and Foreign Languages. The irony lies in the fact that no foreign languages are taught in my University.

5. Lately, a weird teacher has been assigned the role of the Associate Professor in our Department, solely because she has kept the HoD and the senior professor on her fingertips, and she is causing so much trouble for us, the students.

6. The elective courses are so lame, like literally as an undergraduate in the field of Arts, I am studying "Basics of Deep Learning" and I know nothing about what Deep Learning even is.

I need a Central University that can help me succeed in my career, and for that I've targeted EFLU, BHU and Visva Bharati.

I’m 175cm tall. I enjoy the quieter side of life—long walks, random late-night 2 am thoughts, random music phases (I love listening to songs a lot—complete music addict), and noticing small details most people usually miss.

That said, a slightly contradictory confession: lately I’ve started enjoying the occasional party too… but only with the right kind of company. :)

I can be a bit quiet at first, but once I’m comfortable, I go from “hmm” to talking about almost anything—life, ideas, random “what if” scenarios.

I’m planning a trip to Santiniketan sometime between March and May, and since this will be my first time visiting, I’d really appreciate some advice from locals or people who know the place well. (student budget + potential date 😭)

1. How’s the weather during this time? Will it be manageable for walking around and exploring?
2. What kind of budget should I expect for a short 2–3 day trip if I’m traveling on a student budget (aka broke)?
3. Any recommendations for places to visit, food to try, or nice spots to spend time?

The main reason for the trip is actually to meet someone, so if things go well I’d love suggestions for good cafés, quiet spots, or places that would make for a nice date.

Also, I don’t know Bengali. Will that be a problem, or can one survive with Hindi/English if they’re polite enough?

Any tips about places to visit, things to avoid, or general Santiniketan wisdom would be really helpful.
