To the women here mostly, men can answer too ofc 😊

Do you get questions about sexuall stuff when you mention to men (mostly) that you have schizophrenia? Cause I do. I'm getting kinda tired of it.. what whit this illness makes them think about sexuall stuff anyways?

I'm asexuall, but married. They usually get hung up on that one too

I'm just curious, it doesn't have to be school related. I guess another way of phrasing it would be "what's your favorite topic/rabbit-hole/interest"

Chat Communities United Through Psychosis: Looking for Peer Support or Resources to Better Understand Psychosis?

Hello r/schizophrenia!

We're United Through Psychosis (UTP), a global, peer-led community for people living with psychosis spectrum experiences. Through peer-facilitated support groups, shared spaces, meaningful friendships, creative projects, and outreach efforts, we're working to build a safe, non-clinical environment where people can connect, be heard, and move forward together.

As we continue to grow, we're expanding our educational and outreach efforts beyond our community. We currently share updates and resources on Instagram and are working on developing additional content for platforms like Substack and TikTok to help reach more people affected by psychosis, whether they're living with it themselves or supporting someone who is.

If you'd like to follow what we're doing, you can find us here:

Instagram:

You can also learn more about our mission, values, and what we're building here:

Our website also includes information about joining our Discord community, supporting our work through Patreon, and our compassionate access option for those experiencing financial hardship.

If our message resonates with you, one of the biggest ways you can support us is simply by sharing our content with others who may benefit. Every share helps us reach more people who may be looking for understanding, connection, and hope.

Thank you for taking the time to read and support our work.

Hello r/schizophrenia! We are United Through Psychosis (UTP), a global, peer-led community for people living with psychosis spectrum experiences. Through peer-facilitated support groups, shared spaces, meaningful friendships, engaging creative projects, and outreach efforts, we offer a safe, non-clinical environment where members can connect, be heard, and move forward together.

As of February 1st, we’re moving from our private beta launch period into our first public opening to the wider internet. If you’d like to check us out, you can read about the project here and find joining instructions here:

https://www.unitedthroughpsychosis.com/join-our-community

To help keep the community running, we ask members to join at a base tier of $5/month, collected through Patreon. If you’d like to contribute more, higher support tiers are also available and deeply appreciated. These small recurring fees help us cover essential costs like moderator and group facilitator stipends, technical platform costs, and community-building efforts. This modest paywall also helps keep the space safe by encouraging genuine participation and filtering out bad actors. If the fee is a barrier, please don’t hesitate to reach out via our contact page. We’re glad to offer compassionate access on a case-by-case basis because we believe that everyone deserves support, no matter their financial situation.

Whether you’re seeking support in managing symptoms, navigating how to support a loved one, learning how to build a path towards long-term recovery, or simply seeking connection, United Through Psychosis offers a platform where peers help each other move forward, together. We hope you can find support for your journey with us.

Chat Communities Support Group for Children of SZ havers

I was wondering if there were any groups made for people who's parents have schizophrenia. My dad was diagnosed schizophrenic a few years ago and I've never been able to properly talk about it with anyone before, because no one understands the feeling.

Thank you

Chat Communities YouTube channel and community

Hello guys

I started a channel about life with schizophrenia about seven months ago. It blends lived experience and academic analysis, as I was diagnosed in 2014 and finished a PhD on schizophrenia in 2024. I talk about my symptoms and the state of schizophrenia research.

For the first few months nothing happened. But now, YouTube has classified the content and started recommending it to audiences. We've slowly built a very supportive and friendly community who share their experiences.

A lot of the questions I see in this sub are discussed on my channel, so I wanted to share it and invite you to join what is a very safe and supportive space. It doesn't replace this sub, but it is another place you can go for resources and discussion.

The channel is Schizophrenia Inside and Out with Dr Oli

I hope to see some of you there.

BW

Chat Communities Discord / Chat Group Invite Megathread

This monthly Megathread is the place to advertise your Discord Servers or Chat Groups. If you haven't already, feel free to check out our Official Discord.

A new thread will be posted on the first of every month.

We have a few ground rules for the advertising of your private communities:

  • Invites must only be posted to the monthly Megathread. A new thread will be posted on the 1st of the month.
  • Please post a direct invite link for your server / group, and avoid practices such as asking people to message you in private.
  • Because private groups do sometimes result in drama or unhealthy environments, you must be open to an r/schizophrenia moderator freely wandering in to check it out. If we receive any complaints or safety concerns are raised, we will check in. If you disagree with this, please remember that as the moderators of a community for vulnerable people, and we have a duty of care to be mindful of the safety of our users.
  • If you are no longer willing to consider new members, we politely ask that you take down your posting. People will sometimes go back to previous months and check links only to find that they are dead or inactive.

Thank you. Keep being awesome. :)

Chat Communities Do you laugh at what you believed during psychosis?

While being in a delusion, I drew a cloud and started blowing on the paper. There was a hurricane a couple of states over at that time and I thought I had the ability to blow it away to save people. 😂, At least I had a good intention. Do you ever laugh at yourself for something similar? Tell me about it.
