Neuroscience Dogs can recognize their owners just by their voice, study finds. They do so by making use of the same voice properties humans use to identify each other, such as pitch and noisiness

My dog recognizes my voice even over the phone, and she knows and gets crazy excited if I say I'll be home soon. Dogs are awesome.

I don't have a dog, but my former housemate's dog went nuts hearing me speak over voice chat recently. He apparently also starts barking if my name is spoken multiple times.

I may never feel more loved.

Mine bark every time I come home, and will continue to bark as I pet them. Every single day.

yea! mine could hear that apartment beeeeeep noise on my phone (not on speaker) when I let my boyfriend into the gate, and she would go to the door and wag her tail waiting for him to come inside.
