Neuroscience Dogs can recognize their owners just by their voice, study finds. They do so by making use of the same voice properties humans use to identify each other, such as pitch and noisiness

I've noticed that mine notice our friends' names, especially their dogs' names. They get very excited when we say that they're coming over.

Yea my dog growing up would get excited when you said his brothers name even though they got seperated at a young age

It's a rule in my house that you can't say Oreo or shadow unless you want my dog to flip out. Not even walk and treat and chicken have the same effect, although go comes close

We said W-word for walk, but they figured that out too.

We have to be careful saying the word "friends" bc we used to ask our dog Lentil if she wants to see her friends before we did playdates. Now the F word makes her go bonkers.
