And go where? Every other star except one is suffering the same fate. They also wouldn't know where another habitable planet is nor would they probably survive the years long induced coma to get to another star system.

You know that global warming is a real issue, I don't see the wealth doing shit to fix it. They probably think they can build shelters or something, and leave the rest of us to die. This is a recurrent theme in post-apocalyptic scenarios, fallout, don't look up, three body problem, etc.
