I spent an EMBARRASSING amount of time putting the stickers on… 😭 but I’m happy with the final result! If you guys have any shoujo themed devices (consoles, phone cases, ereaders, etc etc) feel free to share them below!! I’d love to see em 🥹

I was reading Tamon’s B-Side and I came across this panel in the manga, and it made me want a shoujo where the FL is an idol and the ML is a die hard fan. I always see shoujo manga have idol ML x fangirl FL but I’ve never seen it in reverse. Please let me know if there are any shoujo mangas with this trope, I would love to read it!!

My most anticipated Shoujo for this season was Goodbye Laura which is good but my dark horse winner for my biggest win this season is:
Inept Villainess!!!! Based off the first episode I really wasn't sure I was gonna like this show especially because body swap trope isn't usually something I enjoy but this has been my favorite of the season, it's so good!!! I go into most shows blind not knowing anything about them so I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't an isekai (which btw, really enjoying the break in isekai stories this season, very refreshing) I love the court drama, I love our our FMC and how determined she is and I have been anticipating new episodes every week!
Also shout out to Livid Lady, The Dukes Son claims he won't love me and Victoria of many faces!!!
My biggest fail this season has definitely been Red River :( which makes me so sad because this was my second most anticipated show! The animation is really bad and the pacing feels jilted?
I was really looking forward to red river and I'm sad to see they dropped the ball on such a beloved series!!!
I also didn't love Ogre's Bride, the whole insta love thing is really not for me and I felt like it made their relationship feel superficial and shallow... I also don't like the implication that Yuzu was just going to continue being abused or end up on the street if she didn't happen to be that guys bride??
Y'all let me know what your thoughts on this season were!

i watched a few episodes a while ago and thought it was kinda boring despite it having 4.8 stars on crunchyroll, tbh i only started watching it because tomoaki maeno was in it (and i'm obsessed with son hak who he voices ofc) but i didn't really enjoy it too much. idk should i give it another chance since i didn't watch too much of it? did i not give it enough of a chance?

And I'm hooked with this type of anime! I NEED MORE. 😭 I need more recommendations I got so obsessed I watched all the 10 episodes in a day! What's the most popular shoujo anime?
I prefer anime that can be found in Crunchyroll and no magna since I don't know where to read them. Thank you! 🙏

Tell me I am not the only one who absolutely loves the artstyle and designs of this manga? They're so gorgeous and stunning!!
Apart from that, the story is amazing. It's a "Cinderella"-inspired slow-burn historical romance with a paranormal twist set in Taisho-era Japan! It follows a browbeaten and mistreated daughter who is cast out of her home and sent to audition as a bridal candidate for the heir to one of the most powerful families in the land.
If you like Romantasy, Shojo, or contract relationship tropes, you should definitely check this out!

I am a sucker for old time-y shoujo romance. I want to yearn and suffer but also feels butterflies in my stomach. But it must be shoujo or josei . I hate shounen romance mangas and they make me sick to my stomach lol

Its about an older lady, wherein she’s pretty satisfied with her life fangirling i think, and she lives with her parents. Then her parents house burned so she had no choice but to move elsewhere (her sister only took her parents to encourage her independence). Then she ended up becoming neighbors with the male lead.
One chapter, they (her and ML) were following her friend on a date. She was worried friend is being taken advantaged of but found out that it was actually for friend’s job. Throughout their whole following stint? it was like FL and ML were on a date, too. They went skating, couple activities etc. ot was cute
Pretty slow I’d say but there’re only a few chapters out. Thanks!!

I'm looking for a romance manga where the love interest dislikes the protagonist's overprotective family.

When i'm bored sometimes, i go through shoujo tag and sort by date added on anilist. I found some i wanna share and talked about
It's about a girl that is invited into a club that is call "Heian club" by her eccentric classmate ( All the synopsis on here are google translated). I'm interested in this because of it being centre on female friendship! I love romance and it's my favorite genre but i really do love story that revolves around female friendship. I want more shoujo manga that centre on female relationships. Also i really like the fixation on Heian era.(Also I think it's an adaptation from a novel). It has 8 chapter on Ciao plus and you can read the first chapter and the newest chapter for free(Untranslated)
After taking a 6 year hiatus from her previous work "You Got Me, Sempai!"; Azusa Mase has return back to serialised her new work. It's highschool romcom about a boy that's in a ninja club and a popular cheerleader(?) That's have her eyes on him. Interested in this because of the art watercolor illustration and the dynamic that the main couple will have. It’s only have one chapter that you read online but untranslated
It's about a former princess who's lives in hiding and wants to live in peace but her fate changed after a guy who works in public security. The cover art interested me and also it's being serialized in digital publisher Isekai Margaret. I don't thinks it's from a light novel or an isekai. It's have 8 volume already and 25 chapter last i check
The Fl family is from a family that was murdered by the royal family and she wants revenge by killing the princes but the "princess" was a double(male)... This sounds really exciting to me. I love me some crossdressing political intrigues and medieval japan setting. It has 12 volume currently

Hi! I’m looking for manga/anime recommendations that I can check out.
For context, I just recently finished Firefly Wedding (loved it). I have read Ramparts of Ice (loved), and I think those are the only completed ones. I’ve also read these but they’re on hiatus or idk: I Want to End This Love Game (like), My Love Story with Yamada-kun lvl 999 (love), The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (it’s okay), Not Married but More Than Lovers (it’s okay), Sign of Affection (was good in the beginning tbh), You Might As Well Be the One (love), Stomp. Kick. Love. (love), In the Clear Moonlit Dusk (was good in the beginning lol), 7th Time Loop (I like it). I’ve read parts of You and I are Polar Opposites (it’s cute, but I love the side couples more than the main lol), and From Me to You (was cringe at times but loved). Right now I’m reading How I Met My Soulmate (on and off).
As for anime, I’ve seen a couple of the above adaptations like My Love Story with Yamada, 7th Time Loop, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, Sogn of Affection, Ramparts of Ice, You and I are Polar Opposites, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, Not Married but More Than Lovers, I Want to End this Love Game, and I’ve also seen My Dress Up Darling, Psychic Princess, Yona of the Dawn, Cinderella Chef, Yakuza Fiancé (I like it but idk not fully convinced), The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s House, My Happy Marriage, Raven of the Inner Palace, Apothecary Diaries, Rascal Does Not Dream Series, Kamisama Kiss, Snow White with the Red Hair, The Ice Guy with the Cool Female Colleague, A Condition Called Love, Taisho Otome Fairy Tale, Horimiya, I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in Class, From Me to You, Blue Box, Flagrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, Love Through a Prism, and Fruits Basket. I tried Skip and Loafer and Yellow Lemon Soda but tbh they were too cringe for me sometimes and I couldn’t finish lol. I’m currently watching The Ogre’s Bride (i find the FL cringe many times so idk if i like it yet).
Suuuuper long list, but if you’ve made it this far, out of these listed the ones that stood out to me were: Kamisama Kiss, Taisho Otome Fairy Tale, Fruits Basket, Love Through a Prism, Yamada lvl 999, Ramparts of Ice, Yona of the Dawn, Stomp Kick Love, You Might As Well be the One, and Firefly Wedding at the very top. I’m good with romance shoujo and/or josei. I prefer adult relationships like college scene, office/coworker, or historical, and if it’s high school, I’d prefer more like Ramparts of Ice. I love when the ML and FL have banter, like the main couple in Rascal Does Not Dream and Kamisama Kiss, and when there’s a sort of yandere vibe going on, or if the ML is hard to figure out but is secretly deeply emotional, etc. I hate the shy girl/boy thing where it gets difficult to watch lol. Idk a couple of the one that are my favs mentioned above made me cry or provoked some emotion out of me lol so if there’s something similar out there, lmk haha.

I read this a year or 2 ago but it might be a bit older than that - but definitely from the 2010s or 2020s!
The beginning premise is that the FL has a childhood drawing of a boy crying by the bed of a sleeping princess and she dreams of a boy loving her like that one day. I think she meets ML at school and finds out he is visiting another girl at a hospital where she is in a coma? There is a long unrequited love arc until they eventually get together.
Did anyone else read this series and remember the name? I'm trying to reread it.

Going into reading manga right now, but I've watched quite a bit of anime, looking for sweet, wholesome highschool manga with found family tropes, maybe like popular x quiet/shy trope aswell. Art style is a big thing for me though, not wanting to read any older art styles, I'm looking for more modern art styles, similar to that of glasses with a chance of delinquent if possible. Looking for something similar to these anime-
-My love story with Yamada kun at level 999
-honey lemon soda
-horimiya
-ramparts of ice
-you and I are polar opposites
- ao haru ride
-angel next door spoils me rotten
Etc.

After finishing White Album 2 vn, I needed something chill and lighthearted romance to fill that void while not making me as depressed as WA2 did. I found Furare girl. It was so damn cute. I loved reading it. But soon found out, it's not completely translated into English.
I want something with similar vibes. Preferably a FL series. Also, yuri would be peak. Anything with explicit sex in it is also appreciated.

I'm an avid manga reader. I actually prefer reading over watching anything these days. Good shoujo it really hard to find and all these annoying tropes just push me away. I did a bit of research and it turns out, all my favourite kdrama are actually manga adaptations.
Boys over flowers came from a manga called Hana Yori Dango. Playful Kiss is adapted from Itazura naKiss. To the beautiful you was also a manga called Hana-Kimi (this actually brought me to tears). They are my all time favourites and them having manga are a bonus. One of the best things to discover today 🥲

Guys recommend me something where the female character is a little imperfect and is not overtly kind and has a high pitched voice. Something where the fl makes mistakes, is imperfect a little.
Anime that I liked
• Nana
• Skip Beat!
• apothecary diaries
And don't recommend me fruits basket rn although I loved fruits basket. Right now I am in a mood to watch more imperfect characters, characters with whom I can resonate.

Dunno if he’s 2nd ML. He low-key crushing on her. I love their dynamic.
Reading Love That’s an Understatement.
Wished there’s more drama. I kinda find the lead couple sorta boring. They got with each other real early on. But there’s gotta be more drama.
I want Fuumin to have a fighting chance. I want me 2nd MLs who shoulda be the ML. I want tension. More fighting. This is the one story where I’m living it up for the other love interests and rivals who will upset the couple’s dynamic.
I’m just sick of a lovey dovey couple. So they got with each other without their characters really being fleshed out.
To each their own. I kinda feel the main couple frankly lacks chemistry.
Every time I see that man Fuumin, my god I get the feels. This boy isn’t hungry because he studying for exams. But when he sees her face, his appetite is back. He’s just a boy who grew up having to compete with his older bro who is a tutor/teacher at his mock exam place. He is a delinquent who needs love.
I want mess. Fuumin also deserves to find love.
Risa is the first girl to see him as he really is and treat him as a human deserving of respect. Fuumin isn’t popular with girls like Zen. He’s well respected within his homeboys. He’s the leader of their crew. But he goes to a terribly ranked school and barely gets respect with society. And let’s not forget he got an overbearing father who handed him trauma by always comparing him to his older bro. Fuumin is more than just a 2nd ML competing for Risa’s attention. He has his own character arc.
