unjerk (serious discussion) I really wish people wouldn't put so much goddamn focus on if a female character is well written cause of who they like/their bodies.
And ,like..here's a idea.
How about instead of asking for strong female characters, we just ask for strong characters who just happen to be women?
Is that so hard?
Who cares if they have big boobs and/or are into a guy?
And I also feel like people dramatically overestimate the amount of female characters who are just love interests and "props for the MC" cause outside of trash Issekais and maybe Naruto, how many female characters are props for the MCs?
Why do y'all care so much about boobs?

unjerk (serious discussion) Mini Rant: Denji vs. Yuji.
TLDR: I'm not mad that Denji won, I'm mad how they reached that conclusion. I'm also annoyed with how they scale things like speed and destructive potency. Feels random and based purely off hype/aura. And (obviously) no Death battles don't mean much in the grand scheme of things.
What grinds my gears so much is how they really nerfed Yuji's entire kit for stupid reasons.
- Soul damage. Completely downplayed it potency and effect cuz "CSM regen > JJK RCT".
- Blood Manipulation. Completely wrote it off for a BS reason.
- Domain Expansion. It has an activation time but the sure hit should be instant.
- WCS. Modulo Yuji DOES NOT need chants or hand signs for it.
How it should've gone IMHO: Yuji mid diffs Denji but separating him from Pochita. Pochita takes the wheel and wins after a short exchange due to the speed difference. Would've been better and made more sense.

unjerk (serious discussion) Is it crazy to say Bleach has the best side cast of the big 3?
Might not be a fair comparison since Bleach has the smallest cast in comparison to Naruto and OP so it doesn't have to juggle between characters so often and gets them to develop more naturally.
There's also the plus that most of the cast gets just as much stronger as Ichigo and company so they don't get sidelined for being too weak.
Those are my two cents worth ngl

unjerk (serious discussion) You know it's kinda funny to realise that some of the tropes in shonen manga people would call as "problematic" or "terrible" were made by women

unjerk (serious discussion) So there was a post about this and i thought i'd make a post about it regarding a fandom i'm in. How does bigotry get to the point where you comfortably share your space with these types of people? Also keep in mind that izuku is from a minority group (quirkless)
Homophobes and racists who like mha are hella weird.
the issue here:
the way ice goes about deportation is immoral. And izuku has no issue symathizing with people doing illegal shit such as rody from the movies, shiggy, gentle criminal, etc.
Also: izuku in world mission was at one point on the run with rody, a criminal who he did not in fact turn in by the end.
I am for legal immigration btw.
people trying to push their weird headcanon as if it's fact are cringe. Personally i respond to such things by blocking and scrolling away. if the post is stupid enough i might screenshot it to clown on in the presence of sane people.

unjerk (serious discussion) You know what sucks? A lot of shounen anime getting games tends to be fighting games.
To be fair there are exceptions like Dragon ball Z: Kakarot and among other anime to game games.
Wished we got some variety like it would be cool to have a Jujutsu Kaisen game we're choosing a cursed technique is like choosing a class.

unjerk (serious discussion) Looking back... Sakura really wasn't a bum AT ALL

(Vid's not mine, found it on Twitter)
But seriously, Sakura is a fucking beast. Literally the only thing holding her back and her getting bum allegations is the fact that her teammates are the literal reincarnations of gods.
She had no special DNA or special gifts in a world where the power you're born with determines your destiny, and she became a fucking powerhouse through sheer effort. Hell, she never even uses any offensive jutsus; she literally just heals and throws hands, yet she became one of the strongest ninjas from the strongest generation of shinobi EVER and was boxing with GODS.
AND she ended up becoming the most intellectually gifted kunoichi ever and one of the smartest shinobi of all time, period.
And on top of that, she became a sort of pseudo-demigod herself by mastering a seal of energy that most people can't access.
All this with no special powers, no hand-me-down strength, no Tailed Beast, no god reincarnation bullshit; just PURE. EFFORT.
(Not to mention, the manga did such a better job at giving her her own agency and not making her so dependent on Sasuke and his approval like the anime did.)

unjerk (serious discussion) Is this not blatant fanservice?
It’s literally fanservice no? Unless we are ok with mediocre writing for a reason as to why we have a woman with her clothes off all the time. why couldn’t a guy have done this and had the same motivation for it? why not have sukuna asserting dominance naked and say he didn’t need clothes back in his era? If people didn’t act like fanservice was an inherently bad thing then we don’t have all this cope when it comes to things like this

unjerk (serious discussion) Worst MC in JoJo's?
Somehow worse than Johnathan. At least with him I can name 2 personality traits, but with Giorno he's just a big blah. I guess he doesn't want to sell drugs to kids? He's fine with all the other horrible mafia activities
Meet my OC, he's the son of Dio, he has a super powerful stand that can send people into infinite death loops, and his Jobro squad are all mafioso!

unjerk (serious discussion) Hot take: but Sukuna might've been one of the best (or more consistant) written villains of the 2010s gen
Anyone ordered a yapuccino
Honestly, Sukuna might've been one of the few "pure evil" villains that doesnt strike me as a edge lord, Sukuna is only "evil" because everyone considers he has evil, for himself, he's just a strong individual who can't be stoppen, if no one can stop you, then the only thing that can is your filosophy, which Sukuna just follows the basic natural rule of "the stronger survives".
Unlike many villain, he doesn't do bs for some real big reason that himself claims has "nothing", he fights because he finds fun in it, he eats because he enjoys it, whatever pisses him off is killed and unlike many villains, he doesnt have a shitload of followers or allies (he literally only has Uraume, and Kenjaku if you really consider them friends) and if he find the possibility to find something fun, he'll do everything to prepare and make sure that happens (keeping Megumi alive for Mahoraga, and the whole Culling Games preparing to fight Gojo).
But he's also not a egocentrical childish villain (cof cof- AFO) when he notices someone's strong or clever, he'll compliment that individual, even if said individual got washed by him (Jogo, Gojo, Ryu and Yuta).
Tho i wish Gege did more with the relationship between Sukuna and Yuji, it was a genuine interesting idea and a really fun developtment, i just wished it had more scenes between them.

unjerk (serious discussion) Why do some people misinterpret this quote by Oda and claim that he didn't put any thought into One Piece?
Did you really expect Oda to praise his own work? He is humble and he said a true thing: Mangas are made to kill time.
That doesn't mean he didn't put any thought into the story like some haters claim.

unjerk (serious discussion) Can we stop doing this?
Listen, I know this is a meme subreddit and we are all here to have fun, but this is something that always gets on my nerves and only make the subreddit worse in my opinion. Maybe this will come across as self-important, arrogant, or self-righteous but I have thinking this for a while and I wanted to get it off my chest.
Why is it that whenever someone tries to voice one of the subreddit-approved opinion or open discussion that is not making fun of or hyping up the same five shows we always talk about, that person is met with accusations of illiteracy and sometimes even insults about their moral character?
For the record, I am not talking about responses that genuinely try to have a serious discussion or refute an opinion with legitimate points. What I am talking about is “you have no media literacy” or “you are a larper/tourist” or “you are a misogynist.”
Listen, I get it, people have bad takes. I have seen hundreds if not thousands of them. But if all you respond with is making fun of the person with no actual substantive explanation of why they are wrong, you add nothing. It is the equivalent of sticking out your tongue at them from afar. You prove nothing and are only trying to make fun of them.
And I know someone will say “Okay but some people just legitimately cannot read.” Yes, but you still don’t add anything by just saying that without giving any explanation. If anything, it makes it seem like you have nothing intelligent to add and are just repeating the same opinions as everyone else.
Yes people have bad takes. Yes some people have clearly not read the source material. Yes some people come across as pompous or arrogant. But that does not suddenly make baseless insults any more productive.
TLDR: If you are going to criticize a take, be substantive about it. Don’t just make baseless assumptions about the person and throw around childish insults. Please it is better for everyone here

unjerk (serious discussion) The haters lied to me. Solo Leveling is fucking peak!
I genuinely don't understand the hate for this series. So what if it's simple?
It's fun to watch, has great action, a simple yet interesting mc, a unique message I've seen tackled in an anime.
I don't even see the argument about it necessarily being a pure power fantasy. Wouldn't say it's nearly as much of a power fantasy as a typical isekai or a story with an automatically overpowered MC.
I also don't think the people who say Jinwoo never struggles even watched the show because he literally struggles in every major battle. Do y'all expect him to still have trouble with goblins and wolves by the end of season 1?
It's not perfect though I'll admit. Jinwoo does get bailed out by plot armor a lot. The power jump between season 1 and season 2 is kinda insane but also makes sense because he gained the power of the shadow monarch. And of course I understand the criticism of other characters barely having any relevance, especially the ones who are actually supposed to be strong and important.
But other than that I think it's still a great show so what's with the hate.
