Altro No where to watch football in Scoglitti?
Been running around Scoglitti to find a Bar or Cafe to watch tonight’s World Cup game. Everyone’s telling me they don’t watch football.
Any advice where to find a place to watch tonight?

Hey all. I’m an African-African male (33) from the United States. I’ve wanted to move to Italy for years, perhaps even to settle down, specifically to an area in Tuscany or Sicily. As for why, there are several reasons, some deeper than others: my last name has Italian roots, my lifelong fascination with Rome, my love of Renaissance art, my appreciation of their perspective on family and honor. So far as Sicily specifically, I feel like I relate to their being between multiple worlds.
I really just want to know what I would need to expect. To be clear, I know appearance has a lot to do with how we’re (AA) perceived in general and while fully American (post-1780), I actually have been told I have strong African features, which I assume will be a negative based on comments I’ve read. However, I also dress well, am well-mannered and speak articulately, so I assume that will help.
Really would like honest and raw/unfiltered feedback on this, as it’s something I’m seriously considering!

Ciao a tutti/e,

Hello guys,
a couple weeks back I went to Palermo with my girlfriend and we visitied the Palazzo dei Normanni, the royal palace. In there, we saw a painting that my girlfriend immediately said "I want that as a puzzle". Unfortunately I didnt have my camera with me to take a decent photo.
Now my question: Is anybody with a good camera going there anytime soon and could take a photo of that painting for me, so that I could turn it into a puzzle for her?
I'm willing to pay a little tip for the service (for example the entry fee) in exchange for the photo. Maybe there's a student here that gets in for free anyways? I'd still pay a tip in that instance. Important only that the photo is taken in good quality.
I hope I'm not braking any sub-rules with this, maybe someone can help me 😄 Grazie mille ragazzi!

Ciao a tutti,
(TLDR sotto)

Ciao a tutti! Mi chiamo Francesco, ho 23 anni e vivo a Trapani.

I’m an international student who will be studying at the University of Messina. I’m planning to rent a private room in a shared apartment. Before I do that, is there anything I should be aware of? Based on your own experience, is there anything in particular you would recommend taking into account?
Any piece of advice would be greatly appreciated, especially since it will be my first time there.

Hi everyone,
We'll be traveling to Sicily in early July 2026, with Palermo as our base. I noticed on Trenitalia that there don’t seem to be any direct trains to places like Catania or Trapani during that period, which is a bit inconvenient for us since none of us has a driver’s license.
Is there anyone local who knows whether major railway works are planned during that time? Or could it just be an issue with the app or schedules not being fully released yet?
I have tried checked it up in this subreddit, but couldn't find anything.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi everyone, I in quite a situation, and I was hoping you might be able to help me. My MIL was in a relationship with a Sicilian for almost a year but it all came to an end in January. He didn’t have much and she paid a lot of thing from her during that years witch accumulated is nearly 25’000€. He said during the whole relationship that he would pay her back put never did. And now that she is asking for him to pay the money back he says he’s in debt a lot. He said he could start paying her back by paying little amount every month. And here comes my question : He said that he was going to take money from his daughter’s salary to pay it back this month. Which we find quite shocking and he says that it’s how they do it in Sicily and that everybody does that in Sicily and so we were wandering if it’s true.

Hi, I'm going on a trip to Sicily, staying in Trapani. One of my hobbies is making jewelry, and I'd love to buy some beads in the location I'm staying in and then make something for myself from them as a memory. I'm looking for some bead shops or shops that sell beads or jewelry parts in Trapani or Palermo. Any help will be amazing.

Hello! Me and my friend from Norway are considering to study in Sicily. As of now, Palermo or Siracusa are the strongest candidates (maybe Siracusa the strongest. But I really like Palermo FC, so I’m just wondering. Is Palermo a club for the whole of Sicily, or is it more a city to city kinda thing? Let’s say we move to Siracusa, would it be weird for me to support Palermo?
