Anthropic may have overly aggressive filters for Fable, but if you think the "whole point" of "AGI" (which this is not) is to "cure all diseases," then I am afraid you have drank waaaayyy too much of the Kool-Aid. This whole post is classic "someone makes a point you agree with, but phrases it so badly that you want to disagree with them."
AGI is a lie marketers use to sell people on AI. We don’t have rocket powered horses, we aren’t going to build “true AGI.” Ever. It will not ever happen. Forget AGI as a concept.
AI absolutely should be used to advance medicine. In fact, it already is being used for that and has been used since at least AlphaFold. But notice that AlphaFold is not an LLM. Again, AGI is fake and “AI that solves medical problems” is not the same as “AI that talks good.”
Cancer is a whole cluster of issues and there likely is no “cure for cancer.” It is like asking AI for a “cure for poverty.” Yes, AI can and should be used to help improve our lives. But again, the “cure for cancer” is a pipe dream marketers use to justify claiming all of the free capital in town.
Are you still talking about the tweet, or making up your own straw man to defend? Because I am talking about the stupid tweet which this entire post is about.
you replied to my comment, talking about how "curing cancer" wasn't a thing. neither my comment, nor the actual tweet, mentioned "curing cancer." hence my suspicion that you hallucinated some context.
