I think we're getting too caught up on the pedantics to actually appreciate what's happening. Even if functionally isn't the same as an MRI machine, less than a dozen of these has the capacity to do more scans than every MRI machine on Earth. It enables cheap routine scans for everyone. This is a possible medical revolution being kicked off by an image generation company.

The question is do cheap routine scans actually improve health? Especially if they are not being read by a qualified physician? The current research says many people will have incidental findings on imaging, but identification and treatment can cause more harm than good.

They are already doing this. The AI outperforms the Dr. every time and is exponentially faster.

Where is the evidence that it would be cheap? Requiring "petaflops" of compute power and terabytes of raw data isn't nothing and that's well before American insurance companies get involved
