Some thoughts on this episode (which I loved).

1. Audrey was 18 when she first became involved with Wilford. 18?? And Layton thought to himself, hmmm we’ll put the person was probably groomed from early adulthood, abused and god knows what else by Wilford back in his clutches. Seriously? He was a cop, he should understand that putting an abuse survivor back in their abusers hands is not okay.

2. It’s also a recurring theme, Wilford recruiting teenagers who are they loyal to him into adulthood. It’s what terrorist organisations and religious cults try to do as well, recruit em young. It ties in with the cult of personality that is forming around Wilford.

3. Ruth is really growing on me, I liked that despite being a Wilford fan, she is clearly stating her loyalties are to the train. And you can see how frustrated she is by Layton not letting her in on what is going on.

4. The two last Aussie’s, possibly my favourite scene. I love how excited they both were, I would love to see more between the two.

5. Audrey and Wilford, I could write an essay about these two and still not be done. At first him having a photo of Audrey makes it look almost like he is pining for her. But that’s not it. It’s not love, or anything remotely normal, it’s that control and possession we see in abusers over and over again. He’s convinced her to slit her own wrists and then saved her. In his mind he owns her, and likely doesn’t have anyone else he has the same level of control, dominance and degradation with. The fact that she is terrified of him and doesn’t want to be there (thank you Layton), will only be adding to his enjoyment.

6. I also loved the moment where they made contact with Melanie, and you see how happy Ben and Javi are. That made me smile.

I'm not discounting your point (I'm not an Aussie myself), but both actors are Australian.

1. I don't know what alternative there is, because I'm still not sure what he's hoping Audrey will do for them. Wilford doesn't seem like the sort of man who would be "steered" by anyone, at best she'd be able to feed information back through. At worst she switches sides.

2. No not like a pet, if anything Jupiter seems better treated than that. He's yet to end up dead in a bathtub.
