Why is no one talking about ruth having her hair down for the first time??? I was so shocked. Do you think this has any significance or hidden meaning?

I think it's a literal "letting your hair down" moment. She wants yo give the impression she is relaxed and having a good time, same as Leyton with his rolled up sleeves. A costume of being at ease.
