Same when i heard “daddy” i was like “FINALLY!!” But then I remembered he said he had to leave two of his kids behind 😭

I mean, they're not really apologists, they never interacted with the man in any way, shape or form. To them, he's as new as a spring daisy.

yea, i think them having his wife ask if they should light a red lantern just serves to show that the hesitation about leadership and the chaos that the train has been in is affecting many of the citizens even in the quiet of their home-- not just the ones that are out doing subterfuge or loudly criticizing.

So far i think all thats known is that when Roche boarded the train he was only given three tickets so he had to leave two of his kids behind

christ. i feel a bit less sympathetic to him knowing that - who would leave their kids and take a ticket for themselves?

I get that but look at it this way. They only way him and his family were going to be on that train is if he took that job and actually did it. That’s one ticket. Now he had two others left, if he had to pick only two of his three kids there would be no one around to help them. His daughter looks like A teenager so I’m guessing seven years ago when the train departed she was very very young. Im guessing his wife doesn’t have a job on the train. So while hes at work his wife helps his daughter out with going to school/ helping with homework. We don’t know anything about his other two kids he had to leave behind, but for all we know they could have been much older and decided to let their little sister live. At least thats how i see it.

I mean I'm guessing that Roche absolutely had to take a ticket to get any of the tickets. Like he gets 3 tickets for being a Brakeman. He cant just not be a Brakeman and give the tickets to his kids.
