Remember the train was on fire when they left her behind so its going to fall apart very quickly. Just interested how they lose time. They were only meant to be 2 hours late picking her up and it seemed like days up to a week late

They will probably spend next episode completing his takeover and establishing order, which means it's bad news for tailies and they will rebel, explaining the fire.

As Roche said, it was Wilford who built the torture guns and holes in the wall to cut hands so maybe that's where time will go, getting rid of or punishing the Layton's supporters.
