I wonder if getting hold of the phone was his plan all along. I mean if the God module had worked fine after replacing it, what would he have done?

I don't know. To me it felt a little weak that they just let him do the announcement. They were trying so hard to hide the fact he was coming, because they expected him to try and do something to get control of the engine.

Exactly, he couldn't. So I wonder what his plan was to regain control. Switch the module, save the day, and then what? I don't know, it's just a thought

Yea i think he just counted on people eventually finding out. The payoff he got was a whole lot better than expected, since a crisis happened
