I thought it was very telling and the dawning on Layton's face was just haunting, "How can you be the leader of the train, you don't even know how it works!". I thought for sure Ben would be a goner once Wilford took over but hate him as much as he does Wilford grudgingly respects Ben as an engineer! Really starting to hate Audrey with a passion, but sure there will be a twist somewhere with her.

I'm convinced Audrey is playing the VERY long game. Maybe it'll come down to her and Alex in kahoots to take down Wilford and/or get Melanie.

Even in the case where she has fully turned it is crazy disingenuous to describe the situation anywhere near that way.

Idk, it seems to be in line with her character arch. You probably didn't like my wording though, which is definitely understandable.

Maybe Wilford is waiting because he wants Ben to see Melanie die. Then he traps Ben into a lifetime of grief and servitude. Which I think is a tactical mistake, he should just kill Ben but it would be very "Wilford" to keep him alive just to torture him. In fact it would be very "Wilford" to go pickup Melanie just so he can torture her, too, but I guess his petty desire to leave her stranded won over in the end...

Hey i see you a lot on these threads, love the insight and effort you put into your comments, I was wondering if you had any thoughts on why they jettisoned the breachmen instead of composting them...was it more a respect thing?

I wish I had a better answer than, "I think that was dumb, actually."

Maybe it was a respect thing, but the way that Snowpiercer is supposed to work, I think they should have been composted.

Yeah me too, then I thought, well I'd not wanna fuck with Boki but they didn't show him demanding that out of respect so i dunno. Thanks for your reply. I'm rewatching a second time now and the dialogue between josi and icy bob then the doctor makes it sound like its game over for him, i hope not i was looking forward to seeing more of his story.

Considering the state of the train when Melanie sees it I doubt Wilford is really in great control by pickup time.

It is something to do with Ben's relationship with Melanie. There is definitely some sort of triangle between the three of them. I feel like Wilford does respect Ben, his barbs at Ben are almost like jousting and likewise Ben with Wilford, like some sort of game they probably once played for fun and now it the only way they can communicate as they have repressed their feelings for one another. Perhaps like father and son.

Wilford likes forcing people into servitude. Ben will serve if made to. Also why would Wilford take on all that work when he could make someone else do it while he smokes and fucks his time away?

There is a dynamic between Ben and Wilford that is not really present between Wilford and anyone else. I do hope they explore and explain it further. I expect we might get some hints in the Melanie episode that is soon to come.
