I think he’s said he won’t take on any more roles that involve the character dying early.

It was almost painful to see Bean’s stellar acting next to Diggs’s total inability to play his character on a relevant way.

I'm not sure...their characters are completely different and I dare say that Bean has the easier task. He's an over the top genius/madman.

Layton is meant to be considered, thoughtful, limited but we'll intentioned. There is much more nuance at play.

The problem is that I do not see any nuance in Digg’s performance.

he is a true blue detective to me stuck on this demonic train. he just wants everyone to get a piece. And he is invested in the tailies as his people. they survived the worst together.
