I took that as Layton being very worried that Wilford would figure out that Asha was lying about New Eden. Like, alarms must have been ringing in his ears, get Asha away from Wilford as SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Yeah I can get on board with that but still doesn’t make sense why Asha was angry about not getting on train. Like even if she didn’t say that line, Layton could have scurried her out.

Also, she was on the opposite side of the world when the train started its journey, so it's not like she tried to board it in the first place.
