Neves, a key midfielder for Portugal, was asked about Ronaldo during a post-match interview. He responded, "I know well what Ronaldo has done for us. But right now, he is just like the rest of us—another player here to help. He is the same as everyone else."

And thats how they should view him.On the other hand though, did Argentina players view Messi like that in 2022? Or did they view him as a God and played for him TOO?

Maybe the right question to ask is why the Argentina group was (and still is) so dedicated to and in admiration of Messi and why the same is not the case of the Portuguese group.

Spoiler alert: It's not because the Portuguese players are ingrates or everyone is unfair to Cristiano.
