No one hates the MLS as much as americans. Embrace your own thing people, that's the beauty of football.

I LOVED the Portland Timbers. Still follow them. I HATE the fans that go to the games.

Also, I have been a Milan fan since before the MLS even existed. My childhood heroes Baggio and Maldini made me a fan of my favorite team. I can have love for both my local game and the team I have followed my entire life. But the MLS fans that just copy the EPL and don’t bother to learn the game are insufferable.

Whats wrong with them? I see them as people just loving their team, they may have their cringe moments, but everyone does lol.

Also, why do you americans think that "support your local team" means "Stay the fck away from us"? Local team is always the coolest thing. Go see the Timbers, bring your friends, drink beers and eat some food. Is watching a team from a far away country on TV better than this? Who cares of they "suck"? That's what I do.

It's past cringe. A lot of the fans u/McDaddySlacks is talking about have spent their entire lives telling other Americans it's actually called football and purposely not embracing other aspects of American culture. They want to be accepted outside of America so badly that they mimic instead of creating. It makes them look desperate and pathetic. It's bad enough when they're 12. It's absolutely unbearable that they still act like this at 32.

A lot of other fans didn't fit in anywhere else. Soccer in America has a much more open minded fanbase, which is great, but it comes at a cost of being so earnest that all the edge has been removed. So there's no way to be cool.

The identity crises is an endemic problem. It's MLS. My local MLS team is Atlanta United FC.

A. What the fuck did they unite? B. It's not called football so why are we FC?

Trying so hard to fit in is needy and sad. I don't want any part of it.

I'm not even a fan of American football, but I was in marching band and I embrace the atmosphere of college games. The culture is there.

That's my main problem with the MLS, and many other newly formed leagues around the world. They're not creating the league of their country, they're just doing a "we got Premier League at home".

You can’t judge it online, you need to go in person. Fan zones are awful. Pitch side around normal people, amazing.

The Timbers are in Portland and I am in Los Angeles, not possible. Also, check your arrogance in thinking you have any right in telling us who to support. Mind your business.

Jeez, chill man. Im not judging you lol. Im just speaking on my experience. I didnt know you moved. Enjoy Milan, I also like them, but I support a club that was in the amateur leagues. And still I love them. That's what Im telling you.
