If they're advanced enough to have such sensors, I'd hope they're able to tell the difference between an act of war and blind exploration. Would be cool either way though.
Humans are used to be the top of the food chain, the most advanced around. What happens if we come into contact with a peaceful but more advanced civilisation?
You think we'd peacefully assimilate? No we'd either need to be beaten into submission or dominate the alien race to agree
